Guest guest
Hi Sam, is that short for ..I hope I am not talking to a guy...LOL!!! BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You said a mouthful and YOU are so Right ON!!!! everything you said is just perfect and so correct... I was one of those who didn’t taper off the WP but went cold turkey. I had just posted to the group that I thought that was a huge mistake until I read your post. did you get this information from the book you posted about? were you on the WP? I know that the WP sent my body into shock and caused AF and hypothyroid as I have a very high reverse T3 and AF symptoms. every time I would rub those damn creams in, my body didn’t like it and even when I stopped the WP and went on a more reasonable amount of P and E, it never agreed with me. I have been off since April 24th but I am still sick. I read that Dr. Schwartzbein is helping many taper off of the WP, but after reading your post, do you think that is necessary? can you just stop taking it like I did? Thank you, Thank you!!!! My best regards Nanci
Guest guest
I'm a 59 year old great grandmother with tattoo's (and a motorcycle) who had a total oops hysterectomy at age 21 (instead of that tubal ligation I really wanted)... In a different malpracticable event, I was given radiation which detroyed my thyroid and damaged my pituitary and other things. Basically I am thyroidless and ovaryless with poor pituitary function. I am listowner of the thyroidless group and a few other groups. ....not a guy. I originally came to this group to research the WP because I was considering going on it. Thank you, Laurel, for the education. I did not go on the WP, I opted to dose estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone individually and entirely by symptoms. That allowed my body to tell me what it needed and when - has worked very well for me. I did likewise with thyroid - dosed by symptoms using desiccated porcine thyroid and adrenal support consisting of 7.5mg predNISolone (like HC but with more 'teeth'), which I must take or I am screwed blue. Yea, I agree that the WP can really throw a monkey wrench into the workings of the human body. As I said before, I think you likely already had thyroid/adrenal stuff going on, but the shock of the WP made it much worse. I think, primarily due to the P overdosing. A note on RT3 (reverse t3) - it is a normal function in the body. Excess unused t4 is normally turned into RT3 so it can safely exit the body. High Rt3 merely means there is a higher amount of t4 that hasn't been converted into t3, that's all. Generally, problems converting t4 are most often due to unaddressed or improperly addressed adrenal issues and/or low ferritin/iron. It's wise to address the underlying issues instead of " treating RT3 " with a synthetic t3 drug because we want the issue to resolve rather than bringing more issues onboard. Anyway, from what " I " have seen, I think stopping WP cold turkey was a good idea for those that did it. It might be a great idea for everyone, but I haven't been exposed to " everyone " on the WP trying to get off it. What I think (my opinion) would be a good idea in your situation would be to support thyroid/adrenal stuff while your body is oozing out all that excess progesterone, also to saliva test sex hormones intermittently to see how things are progressing. Hopefully this can get you back to square one. Here's a reminder of what I posted previously about another gal who did this: " If you go to the group website, you can follow the progress of (aka wild.dingo) as she got off the WP and addressed adrenals, et al. Start with message #20342 (Laurel June 30, 2010). 's first post to the group is message #15692 (Dec 1, 2007).
