Thank you for the tips, Sam. I am fearful of starting the Lugol's, especially since I think I probably do have some adrenal issues to investigate. I have one of the "good" endocrinologists, reco'd on a few thyroid lists, but other than saying he's "neutral" about armour, will RX if I want it, he hasn't said anything yet about adrenals and right off put me on Synthroid. I appreciate your input and some of it is starting to make sense through the brain fog. :)

The last thing I need is some sort of terrible detox situation set in. I would give up all hope. As it is, I'm having a hard time day to day.

My son, hubby, and I (and my past/present dogs) use both Lugol's Solutionand/or Iodoral (pill form of Lugol's).Iodoral can be swallowed with liquid.Lugol's can be put in water with a drop of apple cider vinegar and drink.Or it can be painted on the skin (dilute the 5% solution, tho).Drops of Lugol's can be put into a cup and steaming water added, andinhaled via mouth and via nose (works amazingly well for colds/flu, plusless "oomphy" on the body).Drops of Lugol's can be put into a vaporizer. Not sure anything can "boost" synthroid, but adding iodine/iodide aseither Iodoral or Lugol's can give an iodine deficient body a boost. It is very important, before starting Lugol's or Iodoral, to properlyaddress any adrenal or low ferritin issues (could these things be causingyour hypertension?). And also when taking Iodoral or Lugol's one "MUST" betaking something (salt flushes and/or grams of vitamin c) to lessen anypotential detox symptoms. There's a ton of info at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/iodineand also at http://www.iodine4health.comPlus in http://www.breastcancerchoices.org/iodineindex.htmlSam=====> I am currently taking 50mcg of Synthroid. My son, hubby, and I (and my past/present dogs) use both Lugol's Solution

and/or Iodoral (pill form of Lugol's).

Iodoral can be swallowed with liquid.

Lugol's can be put in water with a drop of apple cider vinegar and drink.

Or it can be painted on the skin (dilute the 5% solution, tho).

Drops of Lugol's can be put into a cup and steaming water added, and

inhaled via mouth and via nose (works amazingly well for colds/flu, plus

less " oomphy " on the body).

Drops of Lugol's can be put into a vaporizer.

Not sure anything can " boost " synthroid, but adding iodine/iodide as

either Iodoral or Lugol's can give an iodine deficient body a boost.

It is very important, before starting Lugol's or Iodoral, to properly

address any adrenal or low ferritin issues (could these things be causing

your hypertension?). And also when taking Iodoral or Lugol's one " MUST " be

taking something (salt flushes and/or grams of vitamin c) to lessen any

potential detox symptoms.

There's a ton of info at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/iodine

and also at http://www.iodine4health.com

It would likely be of greater benefit to your health if you tended to

adrenals and low ferritin first. I can't stress how important this is.

In case your " good " endo hasn't done so, or won't, you can test these

things yourself:
