Guest guest
Nothing personal or mean directed at anybody in particular, but the name of the drug is::: MEGACE. ***Not***::: MEGASE. ....in the event anyone wanted to look it up. Guest guest
Really? Depends on the company RUBY! Usually it is spelled Megesterol Acetate. I had all three on my prescriptions. Geesh that is really important and on that note I am out. > > > > Nothing personal or mean directed at anybody in particular, but the name of the drug is::: > > MEGACE. > > ***Not***::: > > MEGASE. > > ...in the event anyone wanted to look it up. > > " Thank you; that is all. Guest guest
Thanks Ruby..seeing it spelled out like this reminds me that this is the stuff my brother-in-law, dying of metastatic malignant melanoma was prescribed to give him an appetite, since he was losing so much weight....it is also given to AIDS and cancer (especially breSast cancer, for some reason) patients..and a few doctors and nurses mentioned that this was " evil stuff " . It seemed almost torturous to make him take this..I was glad when a medical person - and then a few more - said it hurts more than it " helps " . > > > > Nothing personal or mean directed at anybody in particular, but the name of the drug is::: > > MEGACE. > > ***Not***::: > > MEGASE. > > ...in the event anyone wanted to look it up. > > " Thank you; that is all. Guest guest
Ruby,I apologize for the original misspelling. I think it was me. My brain doesn't work so good sometimes. I think I have spelled it both ways in my postings. I will be more careful so as not to confuse anyone if they google. And this just triggered a memory. I used to have a pet sitting client who had an old doberman who was on Megace for bladder incontinence for 5 years. The dog looked horrible and skinny and didn't eat much but didn't dribble pee. I knew nothing about hormones then. She could have looked horrible because she was old also.Liz Thanks Ruby..seeing it spelled out like this reminds me that this is the stuff my brother-in-law, dying of metastatic malignant melanoma was prescribed to give him an appetite, since he was losing so much weight....it is also given to AIDS and cancer (especially breSast cancer, for some reason) patients..and a few doctors and nurses mentioned that this was "evil stuff".
