Guest guest
Just because something is 'done alot' doesn't mean it's the right thing to do or the healthiest thing to do. After all, people drink diet pop 'alot' but that doesn't make it good for you. From everything Dr. S says, continuous dosing with both E/P is just not healthy and adding in T seems even more dangerous. You are seeing a doctor that doesn't have a clue how hormones work. Run away fast. And to Socorro, yes the dosages on the WP are way too high. This is why so many of us here are sick and are working with Dr. Schwarzbein and other doctors to get better. I have a friend who has reduced her WP amounts by more than 50%, still have a period and feels fine BUT she isn't working with a trained doctor either so who knows what's happening inside her body. She has watched me suffer for over a year getting OFF the WP but seems happy to stay on it 'her way.' If there's one thing I have learned is that every doctor only knows what that doctor knows, has experienced, has read, been told, etc. You HAVE to use your gut but it has to be a somewhat trained gut or you can make yourself even sicker. There are many days these days when I want to stop taking all of it and go to the Caribbean, find a hut and let my body just go into menopause naturally while eating coconut and sipping on umbrella drinks in the evening by the ocean. I think that would make all of us better! beth
Guest guest
Great post! One thing though. Gave me a laugh. I just got back from Tahiti where I was eating fresh cracked coconut, alternating between swimming in the ocean and the pool, and doing the sunset drink routine. I got edema in my ankles. ;-pBack in the Pacific Northwest now…. with skinny ankles again. LaurelPS. Dr. S' Menopause book is really good. Good good good!
