Guest guest
Gael: Yes POST menopausal, complex atypia is very common, that is why they did not offer you progesterone, how would that save your fertility if you are post menopausal?????? What does barely post menopausal mean anyway? You either went through menopause or you didn't. Huge difference in hormone production. They weren't so worried because you no longer were producing the hormones in great amounts that makes this proliferative. Pre-menopausal women, well that is a different story, the endometrium is still proliferative. It is more than 23%, the studies I read studies that showed 40% conversion to cancer. One study, a small one showed 23%. Even in post menopausal women. Understand this was very rare in pre-menopasual women then and 6 years ago Megase was just starting to be used to save fertility. Again if I would of become pregnant, this could of reversed entirely. Was that an option for you? Well, I guess now with reproductive technology anything can happen! I figured trying to become pregnant was better than removing my uterus. If it would of worked I would of had a six year old right now and not getting ready for surgery. Guest guest
Ellen, I am sorry that you are facing surgery. By 'barely menopausal', I mean that I was still cycling but obviously not still ovulating. Peri doesn't have a sudden cutoff where one moment you are cycling and the next you are not. I was in that twilight zone inbetween, where I had been for a couple of years. Here is hoping that your surgery turns out well and that you have no more problems with this. Gael Gael:Yes POST menopausal, complex atypia is very common, that is why they did not offer you progesterone, how would that save your fertility if you are post menopausal??????
