Guest guest
Hi DaveG, I was given ibutilide (Corvert) once in the ER for afib. I reverted immediately to normal rhythm, and don't recall having any side effects. Here's a site that's probably as good as any other on ibutilide (of course the best information is always from your doctor) www.springnet.com/ce/d907a.htm or go to a search engine (yahoo.com, google.com, altavista.com et al) and search for ibutilide. Hope this helps. Sandy Ibutilide At midnight Saturday Feb. 2, I went to the hospital with a fast irregular hearbeat. It was the first time that I have ever had this. In the past I have had heart flutters that lasted only a minute or less. I was diagnosed immidiately with atrial fibrillation. On Monday Feb, 4, doctors did a transesophageal echo cardiogram. They saw no clots so they immediately gave me a IV of Ibutilide. Within 7 minutes my heart rate was back to normal and three hours later I went home. I now feel fine but alittle tired. On aol search for AF I see nothing about Ibutilide. Does anybody know anything about this drug? Side affects? Let me know. ....DaveG
Guest guest
The generic name for Corvert. Tried on me one time- didn't work. Was followed up by electrocardioversion, which worked. I was glad they tried because I had read about it prior to the visit and I new of its potential.
