Guest guest
Hi Elieana! There are a few families in the tri-state area. Wouldn't it be nice to have a Dr familiar with the protocol in this area ? The closest we have is Kathy on and the NNY clinic. Her address is katjos95@.... Used to be joskat95. http://www.nnyautismcenter.com/ I don't think they are currently affiliated with Dr Goldberg. Kathy's daughter was a patient of Dr G. They work with Dr (TX). I've been pinging on JHU, Univ of MD, town, NIH, Geo. Wash Univ, hospitals and Drs in the area for support for the last 10 yrs. I'd like for someone who knows about the immune system to monitor what Dr G is doing for my 14 yr old son. So far, I've had alot of 'hmm that's interesting. Let us know when an official research report is published' but no takers. I've corresponded with Drs Zimmerman and Landa at KKI. My son's pediatrician is more than happy to support us but only as long as we work with Dr Goldberg. I try to email Dr G weekly and we have monthly telephone consults with him. We try to visit him in Calif. every two years. It is possible to travel to the west coast with your child and not lose hair :-) and if you plan things, the cost can be kept down. Certain items can be taken off your taxes. There are grants available from local groups to help with the costs. I've chatted with Dr Teitelbaum's CFS center in polis. Their start up cost for bloodwork is over $5000 and they don't work with insurance. They won't take the Excel spreadsheet I have of my son's montly bloodsucks for the last 10 yrs. There's a Dr Amen's clinic in Reston, VA. Dr Amen does the neuroSPECT scans. The clinic in Reston isn't quite set up for our kids. THey're more for ADD/ADHD. I've been told their eqmt and software is 'out of date'. But considering UCLA, SMITA and BrainMatters are on the west coast ... Consider at least having the bloodwork done. It will take a few 'visits'. If you have insurance, the cost is minimalized as well. We worked Dr Brenner, a local DAN Dr, for a while. Other parents have worked with Dr Compart in Columbia. There are other DAN Drs in the area as well but honestly, they really don't understand what is doing and they don't want to. Most do some form of HBOT, chelation, mega-supplements, etc etc which can be harmful. We did DAN for 3 yrs with limited to no success. I became worried when the DAN Dr started to whack out ... and I realized the harmful effects of mega supplements on my son ... Feel free to email me with questions or concerns. I used to gather some of the local parents for a yearly picnic as well as organize Moms' Nights Out. But we haven't done this in a while. Interest started to go down.
