Guest guest
Guys My son Connor has been on Immunivor for over a year. It is not an antiviral but an immune modulator. How I understand it from both DR K and Dr G is as follows: Immunivor stabilizes the T cell counts towards normal. If the patient has low T cell counts it raises them. If they have high T cell counts it lowers them. It does take time. My son had a count by immune panels of under 3.75% with normal being about 18%. That was Aug of 2008. We started it in October. By January it was up to 5.5% and as of last August it was up to 15+%. Over that time we gave the med to him cyclically. Weekdays full dose. Weekends off. Every other week half dosage and weekends off. This is because the immunivor raises the uric acid levels in his blood. Most of you are having uric acid levels tested and are seeing slightly elevated levels due to the immune. The reason for weekends off are to allow the uric acid levels to lower. The break after three months has nothing to do with uric acid (DR K takes a break of one month after a year) it allows the immunivor to take a fresh start so to speak and DR K says after some period of time the improvements generally plateau and a restart gives the t-cell counts another lift. According to Dr K to see significant results takes it about six months and this was true for my son. I will say when we reached the 15% T-cell count, a lot of things happened. Chronic fungals infections on his feet that we fought for 5 years just disappeared. Language exploded as did energy levels, apetite, acedemics, interaction and of all things humor. He now works at making us laugh as well as his class mates to the teachers disappointment. He also seeks out friends actively. A lot of things contributed to these improvements. We fine tuned diet, added and removed SSRI's and recently added Wellbutrin which is not an SSRI but has seemed to improve focus. It may not be all the Immunivor but I believe it has had the greatest and longest lasting effect. Possibly because his body is less dependent on the antiviral drugs and more self substaning fighting the retrovirus. Dr K has used it for many years with her CFS patients and feels there is little danger as long as you let the uric acid levels reduce very regularly. Let me make it clear that this my interpratation that I have developed after many conversations and internet research. Not necessarily an accurate quote or attribution to either Dr K or DR G! It took me a good 2 months on it to realize the difference. Guest guest
I hate to jump in - could you explain the reasoning behind the elevated uric acid levels? Thanks! ________________________________ From: Bill klimas <klimas_bill@...> Sent: Sun, November 1, 2009 10:29:45 AM Subject: Re: Re: Immunovir and breaks Guys My son Connor has been on Immunivor for over a year. Guest guest
I'm encouraged by what I'm hearing about immunovir. My son doesn't have language YET, so I'm hoping this will be the extra " push " he needs. :-) From: meljackmom <meljackmom (DOT) com> Subject: Re: Immunovir groups (DOT) com Date: Sunday, November 1, 2009, 7:37 AM My son has been on it since June. Guest guest
As the inosine component of Imunovir is metabolized to uric acid, it should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment, a history of gout or hyperuricaemia http://www.epgonline.org/viewdrug.cfm/letter/i/language/lg0001/drugId/DR0006 12/drugName/IMUNOVIR In ASD children you don't have to worry too much about the uric acid, because it is low in many children with autism. Uric Acid just like Glutathione are strong antioxidants which helps detoxify the body. Of course, you need to perform regular lab tests to make sure you child is healthy and test for uric acid levels as well, just in case.. We test for uric acid levels every 6 weeks just to be safe, everybody should do the same with their children. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uric_acid Both uric acid and ascorbic acid are strong reducing <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reducing_agent> agents (electron donors <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electron_donor> ) and potent antioxidants <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antioxidant> . In humans, over half the antioxidant capacity of blood <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_plasma> plasma comes from uric acid. <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uric_acid#cite_note-9> [ Regards, JR From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Sent: Sunday, November 01, 2009 1:04 PM Subject: Re: Re: Immunovir and breaks I hate to jump in - could you explain the reasoning behind the elevated uric acid levels?
