Guest guest
le, I always step in when people talk about diet on here, because my child could NOT do the diet. She has a very strict, allergen-free diet, excluding any triggers I have noticed for her. This includes leaving out eggs, soy, casein, gluten, nuts, preservatives and dyes. My humble advice: do what works for your child. I have heard that the better your child gets, the less you have to be so strict about their diet. Hope this helps! > > Hello, > > I have a 3 year old Daughter who was recently diagnosed with " the A word " , as i hear some like to call it. We have been on the GFCF diet for 1 1/2 years and follow the DAN! protocol. I have a friend that has moved from the DAN! world to the world. It makes so much sense as i look into it and i'm interested in experimenting with the diet while we wait for our appointment to come up . > > If you've done the GFCF diet you KNOW it's very strict and even brain washing, when it comes to the " do's and dont's " . I can say i saw a difference starting my daughter on it in the beginning. It was an isolated intervention while we were starting early intervention service threw the SDRC, for " Autism " , however, now we do SO MANY therapies that i have NO way to KNOW if the GFCF diet is really doing all it is supposed to be doing. Although, i do know she can NOT have Dairy/Casein. > > Now the even thought of trying to add GLUTEN back into her diet and remove whole grains is a terrifying thought, I am open to trying it but i need to reverse the way i've been thinking first and try to handle my daughters condition and symptoms: Leaky gut and overgrowth of yeast. > > Does anyone know where i can find a DIET GUIDELINE?? On the website there is a " do and don't " but, lord that is so veg compared to the GFCF protocol. I REALLY need to see do's and dont's so i can monitor it effectively. > > I need help!! > > Thank you, > le >
Guest guest
What everybody on the list needs to realize is the Diet is poorly define so each parent embraces the fact that every kid is different, The Diet or the GF/CF/SF diet only addresses a short list of what " your " kid can tolerate. The kids that recover have parents that progressively address the allergies, food and environmental. You are not unique. Guest guest
Bill, I learned that lesson when I took away casein and used almond milk. It was the worst thing I could've done. Turns out he's allergic to nuts. It's a process that takes patience and observation. All the best, Robyn ________________________________ From: Bill klimas <klimas_bill@...> Sent: Sat, November 14, 2009 6:53:11 PM Subject: Re: Re: GFCF to DIET What everybody on the list needs to realize is the Diet is poorly define so each parent embraces the fact that every kid is different, The Diet or the GF/CF/SF diet only addresses a short list of what " your " kid can tolerate.
