Guest guest
I have boy/girl twins. They have both had the same vaccinations. She had one extra winter of RSV vaccinations. He has " autism " and is a patient of Dr. G. She is neurotypical. BUT she has had her share of health issues, mostly related to being born extremely prematurely (they were 26 weeks gestation, 2 pounds each), mostly respiratory (lungs) and digestive. Guest guest
I should add this. I so wish we had followed a modified vaccination schedule. I also wish we had been a lot more selective about which vaccs my twins received, ie. maybe not all of them. I am not against vaccs, but I am totally against giving too many at one time, and when they are given to a sick baby. My twins were given 4 in one day when they were still in the NICU, 1 month before their due date, when they weighed around 4 pounds. BAD! Then, they were given 5 at one time one month after their due date. BAD! My poor son was given the MMR while he was very sick from being transitioned to cow's milk. BAD! He may not have now if his vaccs had been spaced out and not given at times when he was so vulnerable. My daughter probably would not have suffered such severe lung issues and digestive issues, either. My son's tipping point, i.e. the point from which he was sick ALL THE TIME with rashes, ear infections, respiratory infections was a flu shot when he was 18 months. Guest guest
I don't know - my friend's daughter has Landau Clefter Syndrome - a form of autism that begins in the early elementary years with grand mal seizures. Sometimes I wonder if Landau Clefter comes from the booster shots typically given around age 5. I would wait. The whooping cough is making a comeback even in children who have been vaccinated!!!! It happened to my son. If you hear a " Whoop " sound when she is coughing just get her on antibiotics right away. If she was my daughter I'd do everything I could to keep her immune system strong (healthy foods, vitamins and homeopathics) for a few more years before vaccinating, and I would only vaccinate against the more lethal diseases like polio and tetanus. (I won't be doing MMR, chickenpox, Gardasil, rotovirus, hepatitis B until she is almost an adult.) Did you hear about the 16 year old boy who got the H1N1 recently and got Transverse Myelitis? He is paralyzed from the waste down. Another girl, in her twenties, got something called dystonia from H1N1 (she was featured on many news shows.) If and when you do decide to vaccinate, get her glutathione levels checked first and check her for egg allergy before vaccinating (IgG antibodies as well) From: chocolatiluv <chocolatiluv@...> Subject: Vaccinations??? Guest guest
I have two boys who regressed seven years apart and I too wish I had been better informed on vaccinations. My youngest was 17 months when he got a bout of chicken pox which triggered a long spiral of poor health including ear infections viruses etc and at 18 months he received vaccinations despite the fact that he was still recovering from the latest bout of virus and then the regression began. I do not believe that vaccinations alone are responsible but certainly for some children they are likely to be a contributor in a complex chain of factors that trigger central nervous system dysfunction. All seven of my children (incl one set of twins) had very strong local reactions to vaccs plus high temps and being conked out for 12 hours after which suggests that maybe 5 were fortunate not to have the other factors necessary to complete the mechanism for trigger. Guest guest
My son, now 6, was born 8 weeks early, he had a winter of RSV shots probably 6-8 and we refused to give him any other ones- the DR discharged us from her care because we wouldn't vaccinate him. I followed a very modified schedule (whenever my husband could talk me into one) they get about 1 shot a year- sometimes more sometimes less. WHat I found after spending many hours on several occassions is that if you go to the CDC website they have a recommendations page for the schedule and a catchup schedule if you are behind. What you find is that- as an example- if you space out the DPT shots- there are 5 required- if the 4th shot is given after the child is 4yrs old then you don't have to have the 5th one. And on the HIB series if you can wait until they are 2 yrs of age then they don't suggest getting them after that so I was able to carve out quite of few of the required ones simply by spacing them out. (They have now changed the HIB recommendation to after 5 yrs old they don't need them.)So I'm waiting that one out again. (PS:they do get FLU shots most years but not last year). Now that being said if you are in a high risk group like you travel to foreign countries or your children are exposed to people who may be ill alot then I would be much more careful. My kids were at home until they were 4 and 6 so I felt comfortable about their exposure level AND I had found a doctor who understood they are my children and its my decision about their care HTH, > > > > I should add this. > > > > I so wish we had followed a modified vaccination schedule. Guest guest
That is interesting and informative and of particular significance is your advice regarding contexts e.g. foreign travel since anything that potentially exposes us to pathogens (novel or otherwise!) also requires our immune system to jump into action. Interestingly my youngest's regressions (because they were spaced out and occurred in a sliding fashion in line with each viral attack) diminished and were eventually arrested when I removed him from pre school (the single biggest source of infection for him at that time) and one year later when he returned him to pre school clearly developmentally delayed by then at least his immune system was able to cope because we got very few further attacks plus no further regression, hence contexts are very important for our children. He did not have his pre big school jabs because his immune system is permanently switched on even when there is no obvious reason for it..
