Guest guest
Yes, I would definitely take him to his dr and insist he be seen by a Cardiologist. They can do some very easy tests to check him out and give YOU peace of mind. They can do an EKG, ultrasound to check blood flow through valves and a stress test. Please let is know how he is doing. All the best to you. Sheryl b Sent from my iPhone On Mar 30, 2010, at 3:55 PM, <thecolemans4@...> wrote: Hi, My 8 yr old has CFS, which is doing pretty well on the protocol. Yesterday he came in after jumping on the trampoline (good for cfs btw) saying his heart was hurting. He didn't seem to be in acute pain, but the level of pain you might feel with stomach cramps for instance. I felt his chest and it was pounding very very hard and pretty fast. That slowed down soon enough, but the pain didn't go away for at least an hour. I thought that maybe he had heartburn and that the heart pounding was the exercise and some anxiety, because he did tell me he was having a heart attack. The antacid didn't work immediately but almost an hour later it was better. Anyway, he said that his heart hurt again today at school right after class started. He said his heart was pounding hard like yesterday but not as fast. He has a long walk from where he is dropped off to his classroom. He said it felt like a needle poking through his heart (from side to side, not directly into it). He said after it stopped hurting that then it felt like it had a lot of energy in it - he couldn't describe what that meant but that it was kind of unpleasant. He said it hurt for about an hour - the same as yesterday. I remember before he had been checked out - this was during one of his bad CFS spells - because his heart was having racing spells - practically fluttering - and they were rather frequent and disturbed him a lot. There were no findings then - no surprise since it isn't uncommon with CFS. I don't remember if they hurt or not then. He's not turning pale or anything - the pain and pounding seems to be the only symptom. I would assume that this is autonomic but I know I need to have it checked out. I do have a call into the pediatrician. I just wanted to see if anyone else has already been thru this and if they found out the cause. Thanks! Guest guest
I was reading your post and can’t help wondering – there are many studies that show reduced blow flow in the brains of those who have autism symptoms. Could it possibly be that some of our kids (not all but some) have a blocked artery, vessel or vein in the brain? I know Dr. Paolo Zamboni discovered this in many patients with MS and there are now trials to see how many MS patients actually improve with operations that unclog these arteries. Now instead of MS some of these patients actually have CCSVI – Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency. Most people had thought of MS as an autoimmune disease as well. Just a thought.... Guest guest
That's interesting about the venous insufficiency. I have fibromyalgia and CFS like symptoms and am a patient of Dr. G's. I just finished a round of tests at the cardiologist to to a sudden rise in BP and heart rate. All the tests turned out fine, and the doctor said sometimes the heart starts to race for some unknown reason. I've wondered if it's brain related as well--an interruption or hiccup if you will in the autonomic nervous system. all the best, Robyn ________________________________ From: and Freeman <freemanbk@...> Sent: Tue, March 30, 2010 4:44:35 PM Subject: RE: Off Topic but maybe CFS related: Anyone have an idea of this? Guest guest
hi , here is some info on reduced blood flow to brain in autism http://autismcalciumchannelopathy.com/Blood_Brain_Barrier.html re CFS there is reduced overall body blood volume, forgot the exact data but it is massive, something like 30% on average according to latest studies (don't quote me on the 30% but it was definitely something massive, do look it up) Natasa > > Hi, > My 8 yr old has CFS, which is doing pretty well on the protocol.
