practice fusion and labcorp

Hello groupfor those that are using practice fusion, has anyone tied with it to lab integration with labcorp?I'm curious because my current practice uses labcorp.  But the process of getting labs received, reviewed, and resulted is pretty cumbersome.

Right now we have a central office that receives faxes from labcorp and then staff review the faxes and upload PDFS to the chart.Its not the smoothest operation but its functional.

I have access to results on labcorp beacon for things I want to look up myself or more urgent results..But does labcorp 's interface with practice fusion any better?

Yes I get structured results directly and am able to share it with patient within  PF. Patients get an email and log in and check it in patient fusion.. Quest sends pdfs but think they might be able to do the same in the next month.

No, no volume. I have very low volume and they still set my interface. I do have a contract with labcorp though. Thanks .Are you happy with Practice Fusion overall?

(I've been using Amazing Charts but having trouble using it via a Windows partition on my MacBook and think it may be time to change.  Talking with Amazing Charts this morning about their Cloud version, but, of course, Practice Fusion would be cheaper.)

Overall I am happy. My main concern is with the reporting capacity. Working in the area I do I would love to see my reporting capacity enhanced. You cannot enter structured point of care labs but I simply created a template for that and it is quite fast. I have not experienced downtime but there are times when the system is a bit slower. If you want to I can give you a tour of my settings over gmail video (or go to meeting). Hi everyone,As our practice has just began using Practice Fusion, I have a question that I thought may be helpful for others as well., Sangeetha, and others: Could you please comment on your success using Practice Fusion to obtain the Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement through CMS? Another EMR company told us that Practice Fusion has lower rates of successful reimbursement, so I just want to clarify whether there is any truth to this claim. If you have had a successful experience receiving your reimbursement while using Practice Fusion, this would ease our concerns.

The rates of reimbursement have nothing to do with the EMR directly – it has to do with location, coding, speciality, etc….but as far as I know EMR is not biased in the reimbursement….. Rates of reimbursement depend on the user of the EMR, that is you doing the work correctly. Some systems give you more help with achieving MU than others.You might connect with your local HIT Extension center for help.Athena, for instance, guarantees you will meet MU or they will pay you the $$ you didn't get. They have many reminders/flags and help you.I go live in a month or so and will let you know. Amazing Charts also has reminders which look quite good.But it's up to you to input the needed data. Labcorp would not do an interface for me with Athena, stating low volume. Quest

and my local community hospital did it for me.

I'm curious because my current practice uses labcorp. But the process of getting labs received, reviewed, and resulted is pretty cumbersome. Right now we have a central office that receives faxes from labcorp and then staff review the faxes and upload PDFS to the chart. Its not the smoothest operation but its functional. I have access to results on labcorp beacon for things I want to look up myself or more urgent results.. But does labcorp 's interface with practice fusion any better? I have low vol with Quest but they are willing to do an interface with Athena too. RE: practice fusion and labcorp

Labcorp would not do an interface for me with Athena, stating low volume. Quest and my local community hospital did it for me.

getting labs received, reviewed, and resulted is pretty cumbersome.

Right now we have a central office that receives faxes from labcorp and then

staff review the faxes and upload PDFS to the chart.

Its not the smoothest operation but its functional.

I have access to results on labcorp beacon for things I want to look up

myself or more urgent results..

But does labcorp 's interface with practice fusion any better?

Usually there is some back deal. IN general Labs pay the EHR to put the interface together. That means that they have a given amount of money for interfaces depending on their budget. People with more volume get put up in the list. I am unsure how I got the interface so fast. It might have been that my Labcorp rep is an expert nagger. She really advocates for me.
