Guest guest
All I know is sores in the mouth can be associated with lupus (autoimmune), HSV 1(neuoimmune I believe), and something else (sackie, maybe hand foot and mouth.) I've heard that some vitamin deficiiencies can cause it as well.  Do they look white and yeasty like thrush? Guest guest
I'm wondering if it could be a flu of some sort. A couple of weeks ago I had three very painful sores in my mouth that took about a week to go away, and then the stomach flu hit one of my sons and my husband. Guest guest
, Have you thought of herpangina? There¹s a link about it below. One of my kids had it once. It causes horrible mouth and throat sores. It¹s viral (and despite the name, not a herpes virus... it¹s a cocksackie virus) so it just has to run its course. We treated the fever and pain with Tylenol and Motrin, but it took a while to go away (well over a week in a very fit, healthy high school boy who runs 7 miles a day... it knocked him flat on his back in bed for several days). http://www.drgreene.com/azguide/herpangina You can do a Google image search for ³herpangina sores² and see what the sores look like. Evidently they have a signature look, because it took about a two second look into my son¹s mouth for the pediatrician to diagnose it. Anyway, one possibility.
