Guest guest
My son did LiFT last summer with a booster over the holidays. AMAZING!!!! He is like a different kid. http://www.listeningfitness.com/ He still, at times, holds his hands over his ears, such as at Disneyland (but not the whole time, like he used to). Does your grandson have hand-foot-mouth right now? My twins had a version of it when they were 3. Awful! They only got the blisters in their mouths, but it was very painful for them. If he does not have it due to something like that, are you exploring something(s) in his diet? My son has been on protocol for 4.5 years. Just recently we had to remove peanut butter. PB has been a problem off/on during the last few years. Kristy Nardini TazziniTM Stainless Steel Bottles www.tazzini.com kristy@... My grandson has had auditory problems always holding ears , sensitive to loud sounds, We want to be cautious not to cause him more problems. Would love to find something to help him. I read somewhere on this site viruses & diet can cause auditory problems. We are very careful with diet. This problem does come & go now he is constantly holding his ears he does have fever blisters in his mouth. He is a very viral kid. He is on NIDs for going on 3 yrs. Always interested in these programs would like to hear any thoughts on this. Thanks Carole

Guest guest
My son was diagnosed with APD aged 10 in the US (on top of SLI several years earlier) and completed AIT at the Sound Learning Centre in London and it completely eradicated painful hypersensitive hearing he had suffered from since babyhood. Previously the list was extensive in what he could react to for example someone simply turning a page in a book,he was alert to sirens ahead of anyone with normal range hearing becoming aware of them , the vacuum drove him crazy and he had one class teacher whose voice affected him (of course he got into trouble when he covered his ears when she spoke!). Peripheral noise can still be distracting and he can find noisy environments tough both of which are features of APD but he never covers his ears now as there is no painful hearing. Guest guest
Carole, my daughter is doing therapeutic listening right now with our therapist. She sends our daughter home each week with a new CD to listen to on her headphones and she is to listen to these special songs while reading or doing school work and with background noise from home going on. I have noticed that she doesn't hold her ears as much and that even though loud noises hurt her ears, she isn't as sensitive as she used to be. She also is listening to me better and seems to understand what I say much easier. I think it's been great! , CCE [bWI} Wholeheartedfamily- www.wholeheartedfamily.weebly.com Birthworks Childbirth Classes & Doula Services Student midwife -------------------------------------------------- From: " chocolatiluv " <chocolatiluv@...> Sent: Wednesday, April 07, 2010 5:25 PM < > Subject: Theraputic Listening > Wanting to know any thoughts on theraputic listening program. Guest guest
We did it and loved it. We found gains in self regulation and language skills. We did it for a long time (3-5 years old). I'm probably going to do it again over the summer. He's never had auditory defensiveness, though. I have a friend who's son has severe auditory defensiveness and it did help greatly. Guest guest
How is LIFT better or different from Therapeutic Listening? We are looking into LIFT for our son but the nearest provider is 5 hours away. But we have been doing Therapeutic Listening for the past 3 years. Thanks for your input.
