Guest guest
We think this is definitely medication related. Our child was potty trained day and night at age 3 and had no accidents. We take her the bathroom about 30-40 minutes after bedtime and she stays ok the rest of the night but if we do not do this, the bed is wet. I don't think it is die off unless you can have die off for YEARS. Dr. G is aware of it but hasn't given us any ideas on how to stop it. It is upsetting to our child as it limits her being able to have sleepovers. It's a much bigger issue for us than the diet and I would love for Dr. G to give us more help on it. From: klimas_bill@... Part of the deal. Zolof or Die-off may exasperate the situation but they ares ill just kids. Guest guest
Hey Robyn, Are his ASO titers elevated? Has he had strep recently or around the time it started? Could he have had it and it get missed? (My kids can get it and not show symptoms for a while.)  Strep, mycoplasma, and maybe staph can all cause urinary issues where you can't feel the need to go, or can't empty your bladder completely. Bedwetting can also be caused by disruption of the hormones that shut off urine production during sleep - happens with PANDAS, med changes (that typically normalizes after settling in on meds like antifungals and SSRIs), and just in general, and often lingers a while after a viral illness, even though you got well. My youngest went thru this for a while for months. It was pretty frustrating. I can't remember what made it stop but I could swear it quit after a round of antibiotics for something else, but it also could have been switching an antifungal. Good luck, ________________________________ From: Robyn & Greg Coggins <rngcoggs@...> Sent: Sat, April 10, 2010 4:26:05 PM Subject: Re: Re: bed wetting  I think that die off could be what triggered Noah's episodes and, for some reason, he just keeps on doing it. I've also theorized that his bladder might be on the small size, and considering all the fluid he drinks, that might cause the problem. I had him checked out at Children's Hospital in LA because he had a hypospadias repair and reconstruction when he was a year old. The repair is holding, so it's not that. At this point, I'm in wait and see mode and hoping he'll outgrow it. Guest guest
Thanks for the info, . Dr. G has checked his ASO titers. I will keep that in mind, though, since it does seem to cycle somewhat. Thanks again. Robyn ________________________________ From: <thecolemans4@...> Sent: Sat, April 10, 2010 7:57:08 PM Subject: Re: Re: bed wetting Hey Robyn, Are his ASO titers elevated? Guest guest
Robyn, If I remember correctly also did the bed wetting thing for a short time when we made those kind of med changes. Bill is right in that the deep sleep is a great sign but also cause a problem in the short run. The good news is it is temporary. But still a pain to change sheets.
