I wish I would have realized this years ago, but all of allergy testing kept coming back ok...so much for allergy testing. I have to go get casein free icecream today, as he keeps getting the old icecream (well it is new, but bought before we went casein free for my son) out of the freezer and bringing it to me. Guest guest
Allergies are different from intolerances, and I think the only way to test for intolerance is to remove the item from the diet. He probably does not tolerate casein. Soy protein is very similar to casein, so you might need to watch for that, too. Kristy agirlnamedsuess21 <agirlnamedsuess@...> wrote: >I have a calm boy!!!!! Guest guest
hi Kristy IgE testing is for allergies, and IgG food antigen blood test is for food intolerances. for example us are negative for IgE for gluten/wheat/milk/egg, where as the IgG testing was severe for all of those plus mild for a few other things. Guest guest
Neither Ige nor igg testing did anything to indicate my baby girl did not tolerate corn. We were losing her to intolerances which no testing revealed. The only thing that saved her was a strict elimination diet. For ice cream, my kids love the soy ice cream, but if you don't want to do that, look for chocolate and vanilla sorbet. Also the Toffutti ice cream sandwiches are great too! (I was not sure why then.)Food testing came back ok except for almonds (the first time). We know gluten is bad from an elimination diet and the symptoms ceased. Everyone had been telling me that the behavior was from his apraxia, but I believe it was from the casein and I also believe that his apraxia is in part from the casein. (I also think his fluctuating fluid in his ears, lymphadenopathy, and immune system issues may be from the casein.) Now, it is just a wait and see thing. > > > > >I have a calm boy!!!!! Guest guest
hi it is NOT " still ok " if you have high IgG to a food and still have it. the end result will be like me, NO Natural killer Cells in your TH2 immune system function. i am 42 aspie and dound aout 18 months ago the IGGs for milk, caesin, egg, gluten and a few other things. i have only recently got my immune system pannel bloods back, and they say i have no TH2 left, i asked what caused this Prof De Meirlier explained my th2 was exhauste due to fighting the IGG antigens to food all my life, there is no medical way to get my natural killer cells back. so if you have high IGGs to a certain food, even though on the outside you may not be showing any signs, you th2 function mainly your natural killer cells are working, fighting those blood antigens produced by those certain foods, instead of waiting for the bad guys. i have already had cancer, and was lucky, at the moment we are in the process of rebuilding the gut, which is 90% of immune system, and getting my th1 up. my son ASD is now totally IGG food free and fructose free, as he was high in that also, he is seeing De Meirlier tomorrow, whilst he is in australia, normally works out of brussels belgium. my son will be having a full immune panel bloods done,(blood taken and sent back to red laboratories in belgium) to see if his immune system has been compromised. Guest guest
Hi , I thought IgG was indicative of external allergens and IgE of internal, or food related? My son, before we started with Dr. G, had an IgE in the 1800's, with a range reference of <60? After years of cooling his immune system, he is in the 400`s. It is something we continue to work on EVERYDAY, but Dr. G is convinced it is food related, as opposed to environmental, because it is IgE and NOT IgG. The Imunovir supplement that many of our kids are now taking does help NK cells. Have you tried it... Lori Re: WONDERFUL NEWS!!! Guest guest
hi LoriMaybe its different in the US, but here in Australia, the Ige is for allergies, and is done as a skin prick test, the IgG is a blood test, that tests for antigens, which is an immune system response to foods. for example my son was negative for caesin skin prick test (IgE), but was severe measuring 2000 for the IgG blood antigen test, meanining that he had an extreme immune system response to caesin. so obvious that the testing is different in the States to in australia. People can develop intolerances to any number of foods. Food intolerances are invisible to your senses but may cause a range of slow-onset symptoms that are seemingly unconnected to specific foods until you are tested. Many people are oblivious to food intolerances until they have a comprehensive type III IgG allergy (food intolerance) test. The test tells you which foods to exclude from your diets and which foods you should eat in moderation. For example, although milk is classed as a healthy food, rich in calcium and vitamins, it can cause health problems in some people. An intolerance to milk may lead to a number of side effects, such as migraine and an inability to shed those extra kilos. What are type III IgG food intolerances?Allergies are characterised by the presence of IgE antibodies in the blood, which are responsible for immediate, often severe reactions. For example, an allergy to peanuts.Intolerances are characterised by the presence of type III IgG antibodies. The reactions to an intolerance can occur from between 8 and 72 hours after consumption of the offending food or additive, so are more difficult to pinpoint. In more detailFood intolerances should not be confused with traditional food allergies. An allergy is a defence reaction by the body to a substance which enters it; the substance may be completely harmless. Typical symptoms of allergies include:Swelling of the lipsDifficulty breathingSneezing attacksRashesThe reaction normally occurs a short time after consumption of the offending food, which can be easily recognized as the culprit.Traditional food allergies are relatively rare and only affect a small percentage of the population. Ttype III IgG allergies or food intolerances, which typically do not present until between 8 and 72 hours after the offending food has been eaten. The delayed onset makes it very difficult to pinpoint which food is the culprit. Food intolerances occur more frequently than classic allergies and often develop over time. It is also possible for food intolerances to be passed onto a newborn child through the mother. When you eat a food to which you have an intolerance, your immune system becomes stressed and your metabolism is affected, which can results in health problems. It is possible to have a Type III IgG allergy or intolerance to certain foods and additives without your knowledge; you may be experiencing any one of a number of symptoms, whilst remaining totally oblivious to the cause. How do food intolerances develop? The immune system is a mechanism for preventing infections in the body, which are caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. In the case of food intolerances, the offending food causes a defense reaction by the immune system; if the food continues to be eaten the defense reaction may become more severe, resulting in poor health. Guest guest
The IgG testing DOES NOT always reveal every item that should be eliminated. Allergies ARE an immune system response. That's the definition of an allergy. An intolerance is when the body lacks enzymes to digest or process something. This is quite different from an allergy. Read " The Complete Guide to Allergies and Intolerances " to best understand this. Kristy Nardini Tazzini Stainless Steel Bottles www.tazzini.com kristy@... Guest guest
, I like your thorough explanation. The Meridian Labs (in Washington State) allergy tests that Dr G orders measure IgG4 response. There is also an IgE blood test too, which we had done in Singapore. My son was negative to many IgE food tests - including casein and gluten, but was off the charts when we did the IgG tests. The US and Australia are no different (I'm an Aussie living in the US) Re: WONDERFUL NEWS!!! Last check, his IgG was high, but they said it was *still ok* and to watch it to make sure it did not get too high. (I also think his fluctuating fluid in his ears, lymphadeno pathy, and immune system issues may be from the casein.) Now, it is just a wait and see thing. > > > > >I have a calm boy!!!!! Guest guest
Hi , My gut instinct is to think that the immune system issues are not from the casein, but that the casein aggravates them as well as other issues. If he had a normal body system, casein wouldn¹t bother him. That said, one of my sons had what was probably fructosemia (a popsicle would put him in bed vomiting for several days). After we took milk out of his diet, the fructose problem vanished. I think that maybe the milk was so hard on his stomach that it was just constantly irritated. Once we had him off of milk for a while (and his gut had a chance to heal), he was fine with fructose. I¹ve seen removing casein do amazing things. And once people see what it does for their child, they don¹t go back! Caroline G.
Guest guest
Yes that is it exactly, the casein causes inflammation which affects the brain and the body system etc.. Re: Re: WONDERFUL NEWS!!! Guest guest
yes kirsty i am not going to get into a debate, maybe i should tell prof De Meirlier this lol i see him today. IGE if you read the article have an immediate response, like anaphalaxises yes which is an immune response lol, IGGs are INTOLERANCES, NOT ALLERGIES. you do not get an immediate reaction to the offending food like IGE FOODS. but the IGG foods to provoke the immune system, especially the natural killer cells, in the th2 part of your immune system. look if i am just passing on information from my health care professionals, and i can tell y ou that excluding IGG foods, as well as IGE foods (if you have any immediate response to the skin prick test) as well as having fructose and lactose malabsorption testing is very very important for total gut healing. so if you had advise not to worry about the IGG food INTOLERANCEs, then knock your self out or should i say knock your immune system out. i am certainly not telling you what to do. this only information that might help some people if you dont want to take it on board then dont. Allergies ARE an immune system response. That's the definition of an allergy. An intolerance is when the body lacks enzymes to digest or process something. This is quite different from an allergy.
