Guest guest
So glad to hear of your results. The ice creams made with coconut milk are delicious. I think the brand is So Delicious but you have to be careful not to get the Soy Delicious. I am just learning about the protocol so you should make sure coconut milk is okay as I have no idea. Guest guest
Every kid is different but Coconut milk is a no no for us. We give Connor Toffutti Ice cream but very infrequently! Guest guest
We did get So Delicious and Soy Delicious both, as well as Rice Milk Ice Cream. I cannot eat Coconut myself (allergic), and so far, he does not like the So Delicious Ice Cream Bars (but his brother does) or the Rice Milk Ice Cream. We have not tried the Soy yet. I am not sure that Soy affects him negatively because he drank soy formula until he reached age 4. I am *positive* casein is problem. I can remember hen I was a kid not liking to drink milk or eat too much ice cream. The casein problem may originate from me? For now, we are pleasing him with Icees (coke and blue raspberry lemonade). I looked for a sorbet, but was not familiar with all te brands and I have to be careful to steer clear of almond and red dye as well. I will say he did very very very well in speech therapy today. I really hope that it is not too *late* to figure out that casein is bad. I hope we can reverse the damage (since he is only 6 and been on casein products for only about 4 years...that still sounds like a long time, though.) > > > > > > > ________________________________ > From: Ranee Fear <rfear@...> > > Sent: Mon, April 12, 2010 1:07:12 PM > Subject: Re:WONDERFUL NEWS!!! > > Â > So glad to hear of your results. Guest guest
I just wonder if my kids may have a sensitivity to coconut milk (one does not like it already) because I am allergic. One of my kids, who does like the cocnut milk icecream has mastocytosis and I definitely do not need him breaking out in a rash or having anaphylaxis. > > So glad to hear of your results. Guest guest
, Check with the office, but I believe Rice Milk Ice Cream is not acceptable on the diet because it's made from brown rice, if it's white rice then it's okay because it's processed. Have you tried chocolate sorbet? Good luck, Argie On Apr 13, 2010, at 6:31 PM, agirlnamedsuess21 wrote: > We did get So Delicious and Soy Delicious both, as well as Rice Milk > Ice Cream. Guest guest
My son hates the rice milk ice cream anyways. He likes the soy delicious, which I do not think affects him adversely. Brown rice is unacceptable? Because a lot of our Namaste products have brown rice flour. I would have thought that was better than bleached flour? Or is it different? I found Chocolate Tofutti (have not tried it yet), but no chocolate sorbet. Guest guest
We are trying to eliminate high fructose corn syrup because I know it causes gut issues (eat syrup on pancakes and get an upset stomach within 20 minutes....it just doe not set too well) > > > > > > So glad to hear of your results. Guest guest
You can find the chocolate sorbet in most grocery stores and in Trader Joe's. We usually buy the Safeway/Vons brand. Brown rice is considered whole grain and it can cause reactions in our kids. all the best, Robyn ________________________________ From: agirlnamedsuess21 <agirlnamedsuess@...> Sent: Wed, April 14, 2010 4:59:35 PM Subject: Re:WONDERFUL NEWS!!! Guest guest
Hi , Brown rice, brown sugar and cinnamon are not accepted, per Dr. Goldberg, because they're not processed. I found Safeway SELECT Chocolate Sorbet. My kids love it! Here's the website & phone number: www.safeway.com 1-888-SAFEWAY Ingredients: Filtered water, sugar, corn syrup low fat cocoa and cocoa processed with alkali, guar gum, natural flavors, salt. We have not seen any adverse reactions to it. We use it very sparingly, as a special treat only Argie On Apr 14, 2010, at 4:59 PM, agirlnamedsuess21 wrote: > My son hates the rice milk ice cream anyways. Guest guest
What about almond milk? Is that allowed? Re:WONDERFUL NEWS!!! > > > > > > > > Â > > > > So glad to hear of your results. Guest guest
Hi , I'm not sure. He told us to give the kids watered down Non-Dairy Mocha Mix to eat the cereal. He also approved goats milk, but my kids don't like it. I can ask next time we have our appointment, we we're there yesterday. Take care, Argie On Apr 14, 2010, at 5:29 PM, and Freeman wrote: > What about almond milk? Guest guest
He usually does not allow almond milk. I use powdered goat's milk for baking (that way it doesn't spoil because I don't use it that often), and offset the taste with pureed pears. Guest guest
Can you purchase *powdered goat's milk* at Whole Foods? Is it expensive? And what name brand name is it and which aisle would it be on? Guest guest
Hi , He had told us " NO " for the almond milk, which is one of the things my son had been on for awhile, and had had no reactions. Also, my NT son really enjoyed it, also. Marilyn Re:WONDERFUL NEWS!!! > > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > So glad to hear of your results.
