Guest guest
Hello, I learned about the NNY autism center. I called them. A women called back. She spoke as if she was very annoyed that she had to call me back, let alone answer any questions. She asked for me. I said " Yes, this is _______ " She said " This is_____ from the NNY autism center. " I said, " Hello, thank you for calling me back! " I was very happy. Dead silence. I thought I was disconnected. " Hello? " I said " I'm here. " She said. Then dead silence. " Umm....well I called to find out more about your doctor's office. " Dead silence. So I continued. " When I heard that there was a clinic that follows the protocol that was within a day's drive I from me I became very happy and excited so that's why I decided to give you a call... " Dead silence. " Hello? " " Yes I'm here. " " Um..is this a good time to talk? " " It is NEVER a good time to talk about anything - that's not how we work. We determine if your child has a family history of immune/neuroimmune disorders and we decide if we want to take your child on as a client. " " Oh, okay. Well if you need certain things I have lab reports showing my own HHV6 and EBV reactivation- " " Are you being treated or the child? " she says sarcastically. " Well....I just thought I'd mention that because you said you would be looking for a family history - " " We have _____ call you and interview you to see if you would be a candidate. Then it goes past ME and I decide who gets in. We are taking on new patients as of May 1, and then after that who knows when... " " Okay so why don't you have _______ call and interview me? Do we have to set up an appointment time for the interview. " " No, she will just call YOU. " I felt like it was going to be a joke, like one of those phone jokes on the radio? I am in utter shock.
