Take a look at your regular blood test results and see if you are slightly higher than normal on bilirubin(sp?) while the other liver stuff is okay. If so, you may have Gilbert's syndrome, which 5-7% of the population has and which can cause gi problems. I just found out I have it. I will ask my primary care doctor about that at my next appointment since I won't see the gastroenterologist again. He has indeed " given up. I'll also ask her about trying Prevacid. Is there a treatment for Gilbert's syndrome? It would be wonderful if you could solve this problem and thereby end your afib. in sinus in Seattle

I feel wonderfully lucky that the combo of 30 mg prevacid (15 mg wasn't enough), 2-3 gas pills (125 mg(?) simethicone(sp?) a day and being careful to eat slowly and chew well, and avoid (sniffle) lemon, overeating, etc. are currently suppressing all my gi problems and my heart stuff is way, way less. I have slight nauseas a coupl eof times a day from the prevacid, but it sure beats heart stuff.
