Guest guest
My twins had that when they were 3 or so. What they had was a version of hand-foot-mouth, but they only got the sores in their mouths. The ped recommended popsicles (non-acidic, like the 7up kind), ice chips, anything cool, smooth non-acidic. And Tylenol with codeine. It lasted just 3-4 days (for each, but they never get things at the same time, one gets it then gets over it then the other gets it), at least the worst part. It was awful! Is your son on one of the antivirals? If so, how long? Because I think the sores in the mouth is caused by coxsackie (same as chicken pox), but I'm not sure what strain. I would think the antivirals would be helpful in minimizing the symptoms. Kristy Nardini TazziniTM Stainless Steel Bottles www.tazzini.com kristy@...
