Guest guest
Dr. G told me my sons levels of certain things were off the charts high because his body was not processing them properly. For my son, his calcium levels were super high, and some other things I can't remember right now. After some time on the protocol, these levels went down because his body was working much better. When I found out that his B12 level is extreme high (>2000) three weeks ago, I decreased the dose but noticed he talks much less. Are there any negative effects if work on both and MB12? Guest guest
Hello Xiao- Welcome to the group!! Quick question for you. If your son's B12 level is extremely high, why would you want to continue B12 shots or B12 supplements at all? Just something to think about! Guest guest
Hi - Thanks for the reply. The reason I hesitate go off MB12 is my son started to talk with it and he continues to make progress with the shot. It is the only thing has helped his language so far. I know that his B12 level is higher than range but I wonder if I can decrease dose instead go off it. I concern if he will get regression if I remove B12 from his body. However, I'd like to hear more information from this group. Did your child get B12 before ? What happened after off B12? Guest guest
No, you can't do both on . And don't be surprised if he tests MB12 in a few months to make sure you stopped. Guest guest
Yes, all of that. He was healthier, more engaged with the world, did better in school, made friends, improved language skills, etc. Kristy Nardini TazziniTM Stainless Steel Bottles <http://www.tazzini.com/> http://www.tazzini.com kristy@... Guest guest
Hi Xiao, Thought I'd add our experience. When Dr. G tested my son for B12 he came back 1303 (in the HIGH range). He had been doing the B12 shots every 2 days for 8 months so it makes sense he was high. I asked the same questions when we first started with Dr. G. so I very much understand your concern about taking him off B12. I was terrified to take my son off his supplements as I really believed that was what was holding him together. We stopped the shot (and all of the many other supplements) two months ago and he did not regress at all. The opposite, just taking him off the supplements improved his energy and engagement (not to mention he no longer gets red ears, which is a miracle to me... since it was an allergic reaction he was having followed by nutty behavior). When we were going to a DAN doctor we got used to calling the shots with my son's treatment. I told the doc what treatment I wanted to try and she wrote the script or gave me the supplement. That is NOT the way Dr. G works and frankly, it shouldn't be the way doctors work at all. Doctors should listen to their patients and given them clear and thoughtful answers. My advice (and this is the advice I got when I first came to this board) is to just listen to Dr. G and do what he says. He has a reason. Clearly the B12 is filling some need your son's body has... however I would speculate that his need to B12 is caused by his immune disfunction. When the immune system is corrected, your son's body will process the B12 correctly. Giving him the B12 isn't going to fix the problem, its just treating one of the symptoms. And according to Dr. G, this kind of supplementation is not just a band-aid, but can be dangerous as it can disregulate the immune system even more. Best of luck!, Sloan > > From: Kristy Nardini <knardini@... <mailto:knardini%40roadrunner.com> > > Subject: RE: and MB12 > <mailto:%40> > Date: Thursday, May 20, 2010, 7:24 AM > > > > Dr. G told me my sons levels of certain things were off the charts high > because his body was not processing them properly. Guest guest
Cheryl Dr G only does that when something else does not make sense in the bloodwork throwing a child off, so I presume you would prefer he accuse the parent of lying? Over all these years you seem to miss the point that " reactions " and variations when using " prescription " medications are by now very predictable. When abnormalities are occurring that make no sense related the medication, of course Dr. G. is going to check why. Usually a parent is not foolish enough to be doing VitB12 (there is now strong evidence on NeuroSPECT of inflammation of the brain from, HBOT, VITB12, and / or chelation in areas previously normal, certainly not inflammed or elevated. ) Foods are another major variable, and likewise, thru the immune activation, can create irritation, inflammation with the brain. SO if a parent is working with Dr. G., he is truly trying to wind up with a healthy brain (I have openly heard him scream he has never created this kind of harm, this kind of dysfunction from long term usage of any of the medications he prescribes) why would they do things like this???? So no matter what any of you think a Scan " a picture worth a million bucks " You can argue all you want but pictures of your childs actual brain do not lie! The day Dr. Mena and Dr. read a bunch of scans and told us exactly what was wrong in each child was like going to to the " fortune teller " only REAL. Whatever Dr. Goldberg uses is proven to be " safe " on the brain via Spect if not neuroprotective. I would love to see any peer reviewed journals showing saftey and efficacy of MB12 especiaaly in light of the new publication out of Cedar's showing megadoing of certain vitamins causing cancer.
