Guest guest
In light of the new discovery with microglia and autism, as well as other neurological conditions, (please see link below) are there any research projects that your clinic is going to start based on this new finding? Guest guest
I think this proves how important the immune system is in behavior and the brain and probably the cause of mental illness but a bone marrow transplant is just very very risky and not something I would ever want to do. > > In light of the new discovery with microglia and autism, as well as other > neurological conditions, (please see link below) are there any research > projects that your clinic is going to start based on this new finding? > > > > Thanks, > > Freeman > > > > Microglia and mental illness story and video: > > http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148 > <http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148 & sid=10947928 & autostart=y> > & sid=10947928 & autostart=y > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
We took our 7 year old son to Germany last June to do a bone marrow transplant (also known as stem cell transplant). The doctor extracted 18 million CD 34 + stem cells from my son's hip bone and re-inserted them via lumbar puncture and some via IV the hand. Pretty simple procedure if you ask me. The extraction took 20 minutes and the insertion 15 minutes. We saw some cognitive gains and his immune system looks pretty good, but fast forward almost a year later and my son's spect still shows moderate hypoperfusion of the temporal lobes, so definitely not a quick fix to the problem. We still need to work on the viruses and get those temporal lobes working. The protocol still makes the most sense.
