Guest guest
Percocet is stronger then Vicodin, but both you take every 4-6 hours. BE careful with taking extra Tylenol, as they both have Tylenol in them too! One does not last longer then the other, it just depends on how your body metabolizes it as to how long it works for you. They both can become addicting , and without you even realizing you are becoming addicted to them ! Debbie A Have a great day ! -------Original Message------- I am new to this and am on prednisone and salphasalasine. My symptoms have improved alot but still have some trouble. Guest guest
hello paula. i'm lissette but everyone calls me liz. i was diagnosed at 12 and i know how it is. yes certain foods can aggrivate it especially the bad oils. omega 3s however can actually help with the swelling. here is my story i hope it helps i have RA i almost all of my joints. it started in my wrists. i would get this warm painful feeling and my wrists would be pink. my fingers swell up and i don't have a wedding ring but i am not able to wear my promise ring. before i wasn't able to make a fist but with some time and medication i can now. my shoulders cause aot of problems for me. sometimes i can't wash my hair or do simple tasks but you find alternative ways to do things. especially when my hands get really sensitive and it hurts to do grab things. i sometimes use my legs and feet for example to cover myself when i am cold or get dressed or even open doors. it took me a while to get closed doors open. however you should still try to move your hands because you could loose motion in them if you don't but it's best to do less stressful things. i have a hardtime sleeping because of my neck and shoulders so i use bengay and sleeping aides when i gets really bad. getting good sleep really helps alot. sometimes my ankles hurt so much i can't walk so i do the fake skiing thing. my knees do feel stiff at times and it hurts to sit or get up and my hip joints bother me in mysleep. yes it will affect your life in certain aspects. the little things that we do will be harder but it will only affect the big picture if you let it. when flare ups come it is going to suck but you have to know it won't always hurt that bad. the best thing to do is to keep things as normal as possible. with the right meds you will get some motion back and if you caught it early enough all of it will come back and you will be able to wear your wedding ring again. do things that make you happy because with RA it can make some big differences as how you see yourself and the disease it's self. venting helps alot too. i just figured this out recently Liz > > Hi, > Thanks for all the emails in response to my post " just diagnosed " . > > I would like to give you a bit more information about my symptoms and > would like to hear your stories and how it has effected your life. Guest guest
hello linda. do you take any sleeping aids? i find that helps me when i have flare ups and i use bengay when it's not so bad or perhaps you should try a memory foam cover. don't be worried about the med the doctors will monitor you. at one point i was taking methotrexate, prednisone, vioxx, and then they started me on enbrel, plus folic acid and iron. tell the doctor your concerns and maybe they can find an alternative -liz --- In , Petry <mapetry0177@...> wrote: > > Im not sure what esr is. That could be the #74 I just know that I have been going to the Dr. for a very long time. I thought I had gout or something like that. I kept going and they kept giving me medication. My shoulder hurt, My legs sweled, My ankles hurt, My back really got bad, and then my hands and wrist got so bad I couldn't even open a can of pop or pick anything up. So I went to the dr and said I was sick of feeling this way that I was never getting better. That is when he did a full panel of blood test. They came back and said to go to rumitoligist imediatly. that is when she told me my #was 74. I don't have lupus she said and started me on 10mg of the prednisone and 2000mg of salphasaasine. I went to here again just this tues and she changed the prednisone to 7.5 mg one day and 10 the next. I go back to her the end of march for a follow up. Have had blood work done also again and she said it was better. How many meds can a oerson take? I am scared of taking too > much. I have both oxy and hydro for pain bult only take the hydro 1 in the morn and 1 at night. I don't sleep well either. cant get comfy. Any way thank you all so much for listening. Guest guest
Hi, anyone have any feedback regarding siblings of Dr. Goldbergs Pts. I am on the fence in making a decision to take my other son to see Dr. Goldberg. He is not labeled, labs look good except for CMV titer, elevated, which is pretty typical in most of us. He does well in school but work seems inconsistent at times, some days he nails it, other days it takes much longer to complete. My friend, who is a school psych says he is not ADD or ADHD. Sports coaches say Focus a lot, which makes me wonder. I notice he is irritable and seems very negative at times. We took him to dinner for his birthday and instead of saying thanks had a great time, which our other son (pt of Dr. G) had a blast and was so appreciative, he was disappointed that he didn't get to buy a toy. AHGGG!!! Anyway, beginning to wonder what is up with him. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Sincerely Noel
