Guest guest
We use Kirkmans DMG. We started it last year and felt that his eye contact seemed better. Good Luck Jen [ ] DMG Anyone out there using DMG? If so are you seeing any pos. results? Thanks, Michele
Guest guest
We use Kirkman's DMG w/Folic acid & B12 - 2 capsules per day. Son is 5yo, 47lbs. We saw increased expressive language with 1 cap/day, and another increase at 2/day. Tried 3/day, saw no change, so we dropped back to 2. --

My #3 had such a bad reaction I almost took him to the hospital. I have heard some kids do better with DMG, others TMG, other neither. Just start slowly in case your child reacts badly. Guest guest
Also, my son could not tolerate either until I started supplementing folic acid and B12 at the same time. Kirkman carries TMG and DMG mixed with folic acid and B12. I just give my son the TMG or DMG with an everyday vitamin that contains B vitamins. [ ] Re: DMG > Anyone out there using DMG? Guest guest
Pam: I do not think there is any recommended dose. Most people start off with a half a pill per day and then gradually increase the dose if necessary. I tried DMG twice now with my daughter and she seems to get hyper every time I try it (one pill per day). I have heard alot of peole say they give their child 4 per day. I have also heard a couple of people that give a lot more than that. It really depends upon the particular child. I am not sure of the brand I have either, but I am going to try TMG from Kirkman Labs (wwww.kirkmanlabs.com). Some kids do not do well on DMG but they may do well on TMG. (The difference is explained on the kirkmanlabs website. I am also going to get the TMG with the folic acid. Supposedly folic acid helps with they hyperness sometimes caused by DMG. Hope this helps. . > Could somebody please give my an idea of how much DMG is proper for > a 32 lb, 25 month old child? > > I bought " DMG-B15-Plus " from Enzymatic Therapy. Guest guest
I'm guessing my capsules have BOTH DMG and TMG (dimethyl and trimethylglycine?). What do you think about that? Me thinks I need to return this! Time to order from Kirkman's. Thanks, ! Let me know how your TMG trial goes. I also think I need to do a folic acid supplement since the grains our gone from Ian's diet. Not sure where else folic acid comes from (as far as a toddler diet goes). You gain one nutrient just to lose another. How frustrating! Guest guest
We use AAngamik, DMG 125 mg. Ingredients say N, N-Dimethylglycine 125 mg. It says pure N, N-Dimethylglycine. Distributor is FoodScience. We introduced with 1 capsule for a week then upped it to 2, then 3, then 4. With 4 he was very hyper, so we knocked it back down to 3. ph does great at 3. He weighs 43 pounds, but when we started he weighed 32. I'm not a doctor, nor do I have any training, other than taking care of my son. Please take my advice with a grain of salt. I've heard and read that some kids have no reaction to it, and others do well with a similar product offered by Kirkman Labs. DMG Could somebody please give my an idea of how much DMG is proper for a 32 lb, 25 month old child? I bought " DMG-B15-Plus " from Enzymatic Therapy. Each capsule contains 100 mg Betaine (trimethylglycine), 100 mg N,N- Dimethylglycine HCL and 25 mg glycine. I have no clue here. This was the only capsule I could find. If this is not appropriate, can somebody give me a brand name/source? I haven't opened the bottle yet so I can return it. I appreciate it. Guest guest
Is TMG and DMG perscription drugs or vitamins you can buy over the counter. Is this something that a parent can do and not worry about detrimental problems as Rx drugs, or is this applied with a Dr. and monitoring blood work system treatment. How much in dosage and frequency do you know to give? When your child is taking this, what do you watch for symptoms to disappear then therefore it's helping him/her per say? Thanks n
Guest guest
Just a quick note on the TMG or DMG...we tried Kirkman's years ago. Increase in stimming and anger. I used the one with added folic acid. Later on, I was told by a friend that there just is not enough folic acid in the formula and that she adds more. I still have not tried it again though. Guest guest
If you are looking to increase language skills, attention and focus etc., then start with DMG. I had started out on this and for about a month she did terrific, but started back sliding emotionally again and had an aggressive incident in school. When I researched TMG, it helps to raise serotonin levels which in turn (hopefully) reduces aggression and rages. Since has been on it, she has been in great spirits and happy all the time. However, the dosage I was giving her may have been too high as she has been getting too giddy and silly, so I reduced the dosage in half and started alternating between DMG and TMG daily. Guest guest
Hi there! We actually picked up some DMG from our local health food store and I've had a heck of a time getting my four year old to take it. He chewed one once, but clearly did not like it and has refused them since. I was told that the liquid version tastes pretty bad, so I know that won't work. Any suggestions on how to get the pill into him? I've read so many good things about supplementing with DMG...I wish he would take it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
DMG can be had in capsule form which can be opened up in put in his juice or in liquid form. I order thru Kirkmanlabs.com DMG w/folinic acid and vit b12 in cap and liquid form. It's the only way to get my son to take it. We've been giving this to Mark since 15 mo. He'll be 4 next month(yeah!) Take care and keep in touch Selena Re: [ ] DMG Hi there! Guest guest
If your child likes to eat apple sauce or yogurt, you could try crushing the supplement into a powder and adding to those foods. That's what we do with our 2 1/2 year old, and it works fine. Hope that helps. Guest guest
We use the form of TMG, good response, but was taking it along w/other supplements as well. TMG has 3 methyl donor groups instead of two in the DMG, if a child does well w/DMG TMG is not needed, my son is methyl deficient by testing so we knew he would do better w/TMG instead of DMG.We also cleaned up his diet in a major way, so it is hard to say which one did the trick but all is well here with what we are doing. > Has anyone tried DMG for dyspraxia? Guest guest
Hi Jackie TMG/DMG blend did nothing for my son when he was 2 years old. I did buy pure DMG but never used it. If you are willing to wait until I get my home unpacked from our move (the stuff arrives on the 26th), I can send you my unopened pack of DMG. It is good quality. I bought it from our Co-op this year. It is light and will cost zippo to mail. I will try to remember to check the archives when I get our computer set up (on the 27th) to see if you are interested. Try sending an email with your address to my private comcast.com account above (if you are interested). If I can access it when I get to WI, I'll get your address. Take care, Pam p.s. the DMG is one me. Consider it my gift to your child! > Has anyone tried DMG for dyspraxia? Guest guest
Hi Jackie and Pam What are you all talking about? I have not heard about DMG or TMG? Can your share you knowledge? Though it did not seem to work for your son Pam I just wanted to know about it. Thanks for any info you can give. Guest guest
Hi, TMG and DMG are sold through various places; here is one that also sells ProEFA capsules. If you want to try TMG or DMG, I suggest you order the trial size first. For my kid, DMG did nothing but TMG made him babble more, and for my other kid they both made him very hyper.www.kirkmanlabs.com Vicki

Guest guest
We did..... kind of. My son started taking it and had a slight burst. words got clearer and sentences longer. then I ran out and things went to pot. We started up last week and I havn't seen the noticable improvements come back but im also doing intensive oral motor stuff with him and that sometimes screws up his articulation in the beginning. Guest guest
DMG is a nutrient that is supposed to help with expressive languagee. It's one of those nutrients that our kiddos can be lacking in.
