Guest guest
Hi Jackie, I haven't been able to go on my own for several days. I've had to resort to enemas and high vitamin C and mg, but haven't been able to go on my own. I've never heard that it's ok to not have a BM every day, I thought it was important to go daily. elyse On 22-Jun-06, at 10:40 AM, jahlstrom78 wrote: > Can you be just a little more specific about what you mean by > " constipated " ? Once a day is considered " normal " but if you don't go once a day it doesn't mean that you are " abnormal " . In fact I had a day like that yesterday...didn't go as usual, took a little extra Vit. C and still didn't go...but then today everything is back on schedule for me. Sometimes that happens but I don't worry about it too much. If you're trying everything mentioned in the digestion articles and still not getting the relief you would like then I don't know what else to tell you at this point. Bee will be back soon and you may need to just hang in there until you can ask her. Sorry I can't be of more help. oh, I just remembered something I've used in the past for constipation, an hebal tea called " Smooth Moove. " It's by a company called Traditional Medicinals and contains senna leaf, licorice root, fennel seed, orange peel, cinnamon bark, coriander seed, ginger rhizome, natural orange flavor. I get it at a health food store. You can find it online too. jackie
Guest guest
It could be just a coincidence, but since I started H2O2 therapy about a week ago, my bowels are working great! My main reason for starting candida diet was chronic on and off constipation (since birth), as well as yeast infections and bloating that came later... Guest guest
I found jumping on my mini-trampoline helps with regularity. Also, I finally just added in the oreganol oil. I started with 1 drop in coconut oil (1tsp). Next day two drops of OO, then third day three drops. Right after I had my dose this morning with the 3 drops of OO, I started going and going. I made 4 quick trips to the bathroom to empty out. I now feel so much better and feel that the oregano oil and coconut oil is really working on my digestive system and killing of the candida there. Guest guest
If you are constipated this is a wonderful remedy for it. Add steamed swiss chard to you diet at every meal for a couple of days and before you know you're having normal bowel movements again. Hope this helps. That's wonderful your bowels are working great after one week on H202. How are you taking the H202 therapy? Bee
Guest guest
Noticed the thread on constipation – don’t know why it worked for my kids, but I got the lipoceutic glutathione (hope I’m remembering the spelling!) and only have them ¼ teaspoon a day – I didn’t get it for constipation, but it turned out to work wonderfully for them – have no idea why. Now I have only been on the diet for 2 weeks, so maybe it will even out with time, but I've been horribly constipated the whole time. I tend to be constipated in general, and have struggled with it in the past. ==>When you lower carbs and raise protein you must also increase your fats per the ratios or you will get constipated. See the Digestion Folder for some help, but do eat more good fats, even if you have to take 1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil 4 times a day to get things moving, or do a Vitamin C Flush (in the Vitamin C folder), etc. > When my health is fairly good, I have one BM upon waking, sometimes with strain. Other times it goes every other day or forced and small lumps. My guess is that you don't recommend fiber supplements like psyllium (which I don't tolerate well, and definitely doesnt even make me have to go) or even flax seeds. ==>You've guessed right about me not recommending fibre - see articles on fibre in our Candida Diet Folder. I never recommend flax seeds or psyllium for many good reasons. > I have been eating/drinking up to 3 lemons in water with the > seasalt, plus vitamin C (1000 mg, maybe not enough, but with all those lemons??), ==>Do make the electrolyte drink according to the recipe, so 3 lemons would be put into 36 ounces of water, right? Lemons have much less vitamin C by weight than green peppers or brocolli, etc. >cayenne pepper in foods, plenty of saturated fat including ev > coconut oil. Maybe my cal/mag ration is off (and how would I know?) ==>If you are getting muscle cramps or deep aches in your muscles your cal/mag ratios or total intake is off. I take 175 mgs calcium and 450 mg magnesium per day, and I have osteoporosis mostly caused by not having a thyroid. >I don't tolerate herbal laxatives like cascara sagrada or senna, although triphala used to be helpful. Any suggestions?? ==>If you are really desperate you can take Milk of Magnesia. > Certain veggies? > Supplements? ==>No, but more fats really help. My friend said that's what helped him most. > One more thing, along these same lines, what is the place of olive oil in the diet? I don't remember seeing it mentioned, but I've read in other places that it somehow keeps the liver flushing and can make you have to go. ==>Yes, as noted above, but take it in those amounts on a temporary basis to help with your constipation. Ensure it is extra virgin olive oil in a dark bottle, expeller-pressed or cold-pressed; a good one will be yellow in color. It can also be used in mayonnaise or salad dressings, but taking large amounts on a regular basis is not recommended because olive oil contains a 10:1 ratio of omega-6 to omega 3, which is too high in omega-6 per my article on balancing them equally. > > I even got up this morning and went running and excercised, while drinking a ton of water w/ lemon juice, and I STILL didnt feel the urge to go! ==>A ton of water is not a good idea without ocean sea salts (minerals) while exercising or running - see the Water Folder. Good saturated fats are a very important part of this diet, in the ratios recommended, and you need to consume enough to avoid constipation. So gradually start on the diet and gradually decrease carb consumption along with gradually increasing protein and fats. Bee

Guest guest
When I had more money, I had a series of colonics which helped get rid of constipation. I've had it all my life. Now I use daily a product by Crystal Star called Fiber and Herb Colon Cleanse and it works. I'm sure it is not designed to be used every day and for years, the way I do, but nothing else works for me. Also for occasional use I use a Nature's way product - an herbal laxative, they make several in various strengths. ellen > > >Hi All, > > Since killing these critters, I have had a problem with > >constipation and it is worse with the Bruhner protocal. Guest guest
Hi, with all due respect to Chinese meds and the like, one needs to restore to the body what is missing. Illness or trauma aside, constipation is due to poor diet causing low peristalsis. The body holds to the constipating calcium and rejects magnesium. If one restores this balance, constipation goes away and the natural electrolite balance is restored. Magnesium increases peristalsis and draws water to the bowels as well. Take magnesium citrate in such amounts before bedtime as you need to move your bowels twice a day. If you want ot correct the problem, drink one ounce of water for every two pounds of body weight and 1 gram of fiber for every three pounds of body weight. Flaxmeal is the least expensive fiber. Magnesium, water and fiber do the trick everytime. Good luck constipation Does anyone know a good quick way to keep the bowels moving? I've tried the bowel program, but nothing seems to work. Guest guest
YES medications can cause constipation, especially narcotic type pain killers like Vicodin and codeine.. any opiate medicine will definelty cause constipation. Antibiotics usually cause diarreah, that is from killing off the healthy bacteria as well and letting candida take over your bowels. The constipation may be due to a medication, I'm not sure. Guest guest
I already use Magnesium Oxide, but no fiber. I guess I'll try that and start giving the magnesium at bedtime also. I usually give a quarter of a teaspoon with meals and in between meals with water. I use a colon cleanser also, and I can hear the bowels making that growling sound, but they won't move like they should. May not be getting enough water and fiber. I'll try it and see. Guest guest
When I do an apple juice fast for several days, I **** my guts out! Some people need to drink olive oil to help the bowels along, but I don't. My niece has used mineral oil (drink) to help her. If you can take Licorice Root, it helps me because it reduces the inflammation. Don't take it if you have high blood pressure or diabetes. There is another form of it you can take then that is safe. Here's some good info.. http://www.compassionateacupuncture.com/constipation.htm http://www.umm.edu/altmed/ConsConditions/Constipationcc.html Hope this helps..cheryl
Guest guest
I've found this to be true in my experience. I've tried everything under the sun to restore regularity, but untill I found out be muscle testing I was deficient in magnesium I made no progress. Now, I find that if I take a magnesium supplement and a little flax oil every day I will be regular. I was already drinking sufficient water, using sea salt in my diet, and eating lots of fiber every day and I continue to do this.
