What we've found with the magnesium and enema is that it loosens the newer stuff but not the hard stools that she is trying to pass. So what happens is that those other treatments give her more of the urge and she passes some liquid stools but it's not the hard stools that are closest to the rectum. Were hoping the Vitamin C megadose will help but at the same time we don't want to try something that will give her a great urge but will not loosen the hard stools. Has anyone had success with the Vitamin C in loosening the hard stools? > > Thank You, > > > > >
Guest guest
, that always works for me. That and some magnesium. -- -----Original Message----- My wife is suffering with constipation. Will the mega doses of Vitamin C help break it up so it can pass easier? Or is there anything else that can soften an already hard stool for disposal? Guest guest
It is the low magnesium in her body that causes constipation. Use magnesium and calcium together. Start with 1-1. I need much more magnesium than calcium. I was taking 750mg a day in divided doses, but went up to 1000mg in divided doses when I got an infection. You can tell if you are taking too much magnesium when you get a really loose stool. That is my experience.

Guest guest
I think I have tried it all and now my son is finally on track. What works best for my son is the following: 200 mg magnesium in the morning (we use NOW Magnesium Citrate powder & Kirkman's Magnesium Citrate powder since he doesn't swallow capsules) 1 Houston's No Phenol enzyme 3x a day 's Aloe Vera Juice (about 2 oz a day) Other people swear by probiotics or high doses of Vitamin C to keep bowels regular but that hasn't really worked for us. Good luck. > > Hello! I was wondering if there is an enzyme/med that can help with getting my sons bowels on track. He has constipation issues, and usually ends up getting stains in his underwear. Here are some ideas http://www.danasview.net/constip.htm The most common causes are magnesium deficiency, vitamin C deficiency, and yeast overgrowth. Guest guest
Glad to hear he's improving! It's important to make sure he (anyone) gets lots of fluids while chelating. S S Constipation Posted by: " myryry08 " myryry08@... myryry08 Tue Sep 8, 2009 2:36 pm (PDT) Prior to starting chelation my 19 month old son had a history of soft/mushy bm's about 2x day. We've only done 5 rounds of chelation (DMSA) and he's improving greatly. Increased awareness, great eye contact, more speech, more affectionate, improved interaction and play skills, and just happier overall. It's been amazing. He's also on a long list of supplements: MB12, fish oils, zinc, mag, calcium, vit C, D3, selenium, milk thistle, etc....plus yeast control (gse, biotin, candidase). This past weekend, while on our last round he barely had one bowel movement. I'm sure he's constipated. He's now having a bm about every 1 1/2 -2 days instead of twice daily. I'm worried he's not excreting while chelating and may be reabsorbing the metals or toxins. I've upped the magnesium, given him aloe vera juice, fiber, lots of liquids, etc...but, none of it seems to be making a difference. Not sure if I am overreacting or should be concerned. Any advice is appreciated. Guest guest
It's probably due to yeast. The metals moving through the gut tend to kill the good bacteria and cause yeast overgrowth. I would up the yeast protocol and also up the probiotics. Give the probiotics in the evening before bed. We also had some success with increasing digestive enzymes for constipation. Guest guest
We use these, they are relatively cheap. http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-BioCore-Optimum-Digestive-Enzymes We make sure the kids take at least three a day. Just up the dose, like a couple every meal, when you have constipation issues. Think of them as gut cleaners.... Guest guest
My daughter was rather perpetually constipated, until after the third round of chelation this past spring. Helpful for her were rather random things - yogurt, celery, apricots, grapefruit, green apples. She never has tolerated things like prunes or raisins, most grape type of things. I think it is apricots that are the next best. elizabeth > > Hi, I would try giving him organic prunes, organic pears or prune juice > daily and this should help with the constipation if the magnesiuim is not > working..experiment with the dosage, start out with a very small amount and > increase each day to see what is going to work.. Guest guest
My youngest son just had 9 days in a row with a BM! Sounds crazy, but this is great news. This is the best he's had in his life. He was born with constipation. I attribute most of the progress to chelation. He has been chelating since May, about four months. He had high yeast, and I believe we are getting it under control. Guest guest
> > Hi, I am new to the group. > Since starting the program a few days ago, I am feeling some die-off symptoms. But now I have constipation. I was wondering if there is anything that can help with constipation. > Thank you so much for any help. I appreciate it. +++Hi Missy. If you change over to this diet too quickly you can get constipated, so it is important to follow the article " Curing Candida, How to Get Started " : http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro1.php See the problem is that the good fats recommended are all antifungal, so it is difficult to increase them too fast since they cause more die-off symptoms. Yet if you lower your carbs too quickly and increase your protein without enough good fats it can cause constipation. However, IF you have had constipation in the past your body will also retrace such episodes during the healing process. I suggest you take Megadoses of vitamin C for your constipation as recommended in this article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/dig1.php All the best, Bee
Guest guest
Dearest Emma, I am not Bee, however, I would love to encourage you to keep fighting because you are stronger than the yeast beast within! I am an impatient girl, myself. I keep reminding myself that babes don't become adults overnight. Rome wasn't built overnight. The ark wasn't built overnight. Since my body didn't get " sick " overnight, it can't just heal overnight...these things take time. Slow and Steady wins the race! Dear Emma, you are in my thoughts. Be strong! Be encouraged! YOU CAN Beat the Yeast Beast! Have a pleasant Tuesday! a Hi Bee I havent been to the toilet in 3 days first time in months, i feel bloated. I took extra doses of vit c today to see if it helps. It also feels like my stomach is full of liquid all the time. I get gurgling noises etc. Im finding these symptoms and the others really hard to deal with. Just want to feel myself again, i been so sick for a 1 year. I am emotionaly and psyhically worn out. Thanks for listening to me. That is because you can consume too much protein in relation to fats. So ensure you are following Curing Candida, How to Get Started: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro1.php Also if you have been constipated in the past your body will be retracing those episodes during healing, and you can't do much about it while that is happening - see this article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal10.php Here's Constipation treatments - see how to take vitamin C since you aren't taking it correctly: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/dig1.php Gurgling noises are normal, so don't be concerned. Guest guest
Hi and All, I don't deal with MS. But my sister does and she takes a lot of meds and has a hard time with constipation also. I'm taking LDN for OA and FM issues. I've gotten a lot of good tips and new ideas; higher magnesium, psyllium husk powder (which I take), more Vit C, more probiotics (higher cultures) which I will take more of....thanks all. And also skipping a couple days of LDN here and there to get the system cleared up. joyce [low dose naltrexone] constipation Dear fellow travelers, I offer my observation on this vexing problem. I noticed, that long before my official DX of MS, my habits, regular for many years, had changed, and that this had become a problem. Now, I simply find self-body adjustment and the occasional laxative helps. However, constipation as it were, was a noticeable problem well prior to the DX, and especially prior to commencing LDN in Sept.-09. In fact since LDN this problem has abated slightly. Thus, not sure there even is an LDN- constipation connection. It seems more like an MS-constipation connection to me. (But, I do agree everyone is different, especially where MS is concerned) Just my 2 cents........I am no doctor. Dave in Pa. Thus, not sure there even is an LDN- constipation connection. It seems more like an MS-constipation connection to me. (But, I do agree everyone is different, especially where MS is concerned) Just my 2 cents........I am no doctor. > > Dave in Pa. >
Guest guest
Joyce,I've had MS for twenty-three years. I'm not taking LDN yet, but am going to try it soon. I never had a problem with constipation until an exacerbation left me with it two years ago. For me, I found that a handful of almonds or walnuts a day make me completely regular. They really work wonders and are so good for you!On Dec 21, 2009, at 11:57 PM, JOYCE MARTINO wrote:You are so right, Larry, and I really do try to eat a lot of ruffage, but I don't do as well as I'd like to. If I had a cook, I'd have them make a great salad every day. Had one this morning for breakfast. I buy Whole Foods kinda prepared salads and add some extra fixins. thanks again. joyce [low dose naltrexone] constipation Dear fellow travelers, I offer my observation on this vexing problem. I noticed, that long before my official DX of MS, my habits, regular for many years, had changed, and that this had become a problem. Once I started taking the vit e ,niacin, vit c and epsom salt baths the bm regularity is gone. sometimes I have a little blood with them. I doubt that changes in your bms happened because of starting on those supplements or because you are taking baths. If that were true, everyone would get those changes when they started on them, and they don't. So are your stools round hard pebbles that are difficult to move, or are you just not going as often? Normally bms will be much smaller around than when consuming a lot of vegetables, grains, etc. which contain fibres our bodies cannot break down so they go out through the stools making them bigger around and more bulky. It is important to get your good fats ratios up high in ratio to your protein. If you do not get enough fats you can get constipated as my article Curing Candida, How to Get Started explains. Also remember that if you've ever had sluggish bowels or constipation in the past your body will also retrace them while you are healing. Please do not take Epsom salt internally. See these constipation treatments which can help: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/dig1.php I think you do the 9-Day Program at this point in time: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/dig6.php Let me know how you do on the 9-Day Program.
