My grandson has been on Acyclovir April 24 die off started 3 days later it has

been 4 wks. really has had a rough time Now were are toward the end of May he is

stll having die off. Dr. Goldberg this could last longer than 21 days.

He isn`t as irritable now he is happier we are thinking yeast & odd B.M`s sandy

color then also greenish color. OCD behavior, last wk.he had a low grade fever

(waiting for test) to see results.

Question is: Has anyone or your child have die off last this long?

I`vw read these antivirals can cause yeast He has been on the same

antifungal(diflucin a very long time.Probably needs changed.

Thanks

Hi Carole,

Hang in there. I know this is hard but hold on. This is without a doubt

the most difficult thing you will ever go through with the protocol.

My son always went through his die off, be it viral or fungal, for way

longer then Dr. G said it would last. But each time my son was always

brighter on the other side. All these die off symptoms are a great sign

that your grandson is releasing some really nasty things from his system

that are toxic to him. They need to get out!

A few things I remember that may help, aside from keeping him comfortable

with Tylenol, is to keep his diet really clean. With a child’s system so

sensitive and stressed right now, reactions can be exaggerated even to food

that you have thought to be okay. The other thing that I think helped was

Epsom salt baths. Dr. G was fine with this although he wasn’t certain it

would do any good. I had heard a lot of parents talk about the detoxifying

effects of these baths, using about ½ cup of Epsom salt to a full bath of

warm water. Whether it helped with the kill off, or just made my son more

comfortable, I am not certain, but he certainly did seem better afterward.

Stay strong. It does get better, but I understand the level of stress when

you think you may be going backwards. It is only temporary and he will be

steps ahead when he gets through this!!!

All the very best, from one who has been there,

Lori

I will pass this on to my daughter. This die off has also affected his appetite

we cannot get him to eat he smells food then gags on everything so diet is

difficult. We all watch diet closely trying follow diet best we can. He is

hyproglycemic which can add to the problem.

We used to do the Epsom Salts baths we may try again.

Thanks again for your support. So helpful to hear from parents that have been

through this. Gives us much hope through all this appreciate these response.

Hi Carole,

Our son has been on antiviral since early April, and antifungal was started

about three weeks ago. He is just starting to come out of the die off, and we

are seeing glimmers of the " brighter child " everyone refers to. It was really

hard to see him regress for so many weeks: very challenging behavior, spaciness,

avoidance, crabbiness, etc... I share this to hopefully encourage you to hang in

there and have faith that this is temporary. Our son's die off symptoms have

been going on for more than seven weeks, and I've heard of others lasting

longer. Our son is getting better by the day and is now talking in ways he has

never spoken before. His bright face looking up at me when he speaks is

encouraging!

An interesting set of posts and I see my earlier post mentioned. Our NK cells

have cycled down a bit ( a series of Diet infractions on his part) but we have

continued to flourish. I saw the mention of wanting things and our biggest

recent gain has been a new best friend! I have endlessly fought with behavioral

issues now that Connor is both finishing his first year in gen ed unassisted and

hard into puberty. The new best friend has made a world of difference, not

because he assists Connor, quite the opposite (The fiend is causing diet

problems) but because he is soooo important to Connor. If he does anything

inappropriate I just threaten to put him on restriction (no Jeffery) and he

straitens up and promises to never do " That " again, just please no restriction!

Way Cool!

Good to hear your your son is getting better. Love hearing these post from

parents.

My grandson is also having low grade fever with this die off. Did your son do

this? How long has your son been on the combination of immunovir & acyclovir?

My grandson has been on immunivir since Nov. 2009 the combination with acyclovir

since april 24th this yr.

I am reading these post all the time seeing what all is saying. did see where

Bill`s son did better with this combo now your son this is great!! I know ours

is a difficult case & each child reacts differently started the going on 3

yrs in july . so we will do the same hang in there too. We know we are on the

what path with this protocol.

What is the normal range for NK cells? I am learning about all this so could

someone tell me what is CMV titers? Are your son`s T Cells at a normal range

now?

Thankks

Carole

Great info, and good to know. My son has not had a die off on Famvir and just

yesterday had a call with Dr. G who said my sons titers have gone up in the last

month... ARGH!

So he is putting him on Acyclovir, buckling my seatbelt for some possible

die-off.

Way Cool!

Hey,

Is there blue dye on the pills?  Are you washing it off?

We definitely had to wipe off the dye before giving it to my boys - they were

very sensitive to it.

Just wondering if there could be another factor besides die-off, and this one is

pretty easy to remedy if your kid is sensitive.

Not everyone has to wash them - but when you do, it can be pretty big.

Otherwise, hope you make it to the other side and very soon!

Good luck,

get over die-off and he has been on this med before. This time it was worse

die-off. We also thought it might be yeast and asked that Dr G change his

anti-fungal. He agreed he would if my son didn't soon improve, but asked us to

hang on a few more days. He was right and we saw a brighter young man on the

other side of this. I understand how hard it is to see them regress. I hope it

resolves soon.

Thanks Ellen

How old is your son? My grandson is 11 has been on several antivirals in the

past but we never saw die off like this. While he was with DAN on valtrex(I

don`t think this DAN dr. knew anything about viruses or the correct dosage

wasn`t right.

We trust Dr. Golldberg my daughter is close contact with the office through

E-Mails & ph. consults. We have seen lots of good while on this protocol We have

seen positives we are getting some speech(we get so excited he actually ask to

go to a toy store. Also ask to take a bike ride.. He has a b-day coming this

little boy never shows any interest in toys. Praying this will work for him.

Thanks

His bright face looking up at me when he speaks is

encouraging!

better. We will hang in there I am just a grandmother not actually living with

this little boy but I am with him everyday & the family. As all of you know

families with a sick child need lots of support so thats what I do. When my

loved ones hurt so do I.

Thanks
