Guest guest
Hi Xiao, We cook everything we can in cast iron pans and pots. The iron from the pan is absorbed into the food. This especially works well with acid foods like tomato sauces. This is a natural and healthy alternative to Teflon! Good luck. I heard that Feosol (Ferrous Sulfate) is a good one. However, I'm afraid to give him since it contains milk and colors. My son has extreme high positive allergy level to all dairies. Would you please recommend a natural iron supplement that is dairy- free, sugar-free and gentle to stomach? My son has had severe constipation already so I concern that a strong iron may cause him more constipation. Thank you in advance, Xiao

Guest guest
Interesting observation Bill. We had our first blood work come back with iron at a place that Dr. G was really happy with just this past week. I can`t be sure whether it was the cast iron pans, the supplement, or finally just getting a healthier GI track as Dr. G thinks! In any case, we are happy and I still believe cast iron is a healthier method to cook with, especially over most options that now have Teflon coating! I would like to think you, (and Dr. G) are correct and that my son is just healthier now! Thanks for sharing! Warm regards, Lori _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Bill klimas Sent: August-05-10 1:18 PM Subject: Re: Natural iron supplement Lori I went to cast iron years ago but continued to see low Iron until we finally got the diet straight. Guest guest
Dr. G recommended Feosal to us when we first started sixteen years ago and have been using it ever since. I never knew there was dairy in it. still takes it and it seems to do the job without any problems. Marcia Hinds
Guest guest
Hi Marcia, Thank you for sharing. 1. Is your child allergic to dairy or not? 2. Did you see any differences when his iron level increased? 3. Do you remove the color on the surface of tablets before give him Feosal? 4.  If you give him liquid Feosal, is he ok with the alcohol ingredient? 5. Any reactions when you started it? Much appreciated, Xiao ________________________________ From: and Marcia Hinds <hindssite@...> Sent: Fri, August 6, 2010 4:13:31 AM Subject: Re: Natural iron supplement  Dr. G recommended Feosal to us when we first started sixteen years ago and have been using it ever since. Guest guest
Can someone tell me why some of our kids have problems maintaining a balance of iron in their bodies? My son constantly requires iron supplementation. He goes for a few months on iron and then when tested he is at a normal level the dr takes him off....when tested months later he is low again - what is going on?? Guest guest
Chronic immune activation or chronic infection are two very well-known causes of iron deficiency. It's actually a symptom of several issues. If your son has high strep antibodies, that can certainly cause anemia if that hasn't been investigated yet. Iron-def anemia is very very common in kids. The protocol typically addresses it. Guest guest
Thanks . We are scheduled to see Dr. in NY in September. Our son is currently on zithromycin which is doing extremely well for him! His awareness has skyrocketed. His aggression, however, is still very much of an issue. When I give him Motrin he is much less aggressive. I am hoping all this will be sorted out within a care plan at our visit to the clinic.
