Dear friends,

I've been so honored to be on this list for over 15 years. I'm thinking that

many of you have not heard this news and it is with a heavy heart I tell

you... A dear mentor of mine who worked with and for Dr. Lovaas for years

called me today and told me he passed away yesterday evening. In tears, she

asked me to write the Me List and other lists and let you know.

For our part, Dr. Lovaas and his work with the children saved our son's

life. We saw a difference in our child almost immediately when we started

our home program. We are profoundly and forever grateful for his vision of

something better for our children, always working faithfully toward their

best possible outcome.

I met Dr. Lovaas once in Dallas, having the pleasure of sitting down to tea

or coffee or some such. I was struck by his passion for excellence and by

his passion for the children. I saw him speak so many times I lost count. He

had such a high bar of expectation for our children and such compassion for

us, the parents. I loved to hear him speak just to be energized by the

humor, love and sincere desire to never stop working for our children.

We offer our prayers and condolences to his dear family, colleagues, and

friends and we too grieve this loss.

love to you all, kat lee

Thank you for the sad news, Marcia.  I had the privelage of studying Applied

Behavioral Analysis with Dr. Lovass while I was an undergrad at UCLA.  I never

dreamt then that I would have a child who would benefit from these services.  I

am extremely grateful for ABA.  It showed me that my son could learn and that I

should expect more from the schools for him.

Sheryl
