,

Thanks so much for recounting your story. Loved the celebration. I totally get

that. We do the same kind of things here. I just haven't tried to get him to

swallow pills. I may try with one of his smallest pills and see what happens.

Thanks,

Sheryl

the esophagus and stomach picture explaining where his food went when he

swallows (he had improved so much with and was just asking tons of

reached out, picked up his pill (asked is this mine?), and promptly swallowed it

otherwise having a total fit (of joy), and his brother, just barely turned two,

wanted in on the fun (after they both jumped out of their skin at my first

scream), decided to do it to. So he picked up his pill, swallowed it, and

smiled, and I threw him the same jumpy-screaming party, and they have swallowed

pills ever since.

They take all their pills in one gulp with no effort whatsover. I was 25 years

old and choking every time I tried to take a Tylenol! (Actually difficulty

swallowing pills can be a CFS thing anyway.)

Truly, it was in the top 3 happiest days of my life. :) lol!

So really, your two-year olds may be totally capable of swallowing pills, if not

even younger. You make it a " when you're big " kind of thing, like it's exciting

and something they sure do want to learn how to do one day 'cause it's just

awesome...

Any tips on how you got your son to swallow the pills in the beginning?

Importance: Low

I put swallowing pills right up there with potty training in my list of

priorities. It didn't take long for my 3 year old son to learn how to

swallow pills when we started with Dr. G and it made everyone's life MUCH

easier.

Well, since we had him with a DAN doc for a year he certainly learned to

swallow pills. So, yes... it s not a problem for him, but maybe you could

crush them and put them in a drink.

Hi ,

I also have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.  Are you using the protocal? If you

are, are you having any succress?   I would be interested in looking into

it.  My daughter and her 14 yo son have ADD/ADHD, and my 10 yo seems to have

Aspergers but has not been diagnosed yet.  I believe their dad was also

ADD/ADHD but was never diagnosed and is now in Florida in prison for life.  We

are in Lancaster PA, any doctors in the area?

Hugs, Michele, nana to twins is and , 4 yo, Zachary, 6 yo, Ethan, 10 yo,

and Tony, 14 yo. (the younger children have a different dad!)

P.S. There is also Gavin who was born 4/18/99 and died 6/14/99, he had Di

Syndrome, a 22Q11.2 chromosone deletion.

Hey ,

Yes, I'm using protocol.  I'm not " cured " , but I am far better than when I

started over a year ago.  Dr G helped me with several things when my kids were

younger and I wasn't on , but he identified my so-called chronic asthma was

actually chronic mycoplasma pneumonia on a phone consult one day, told me to get

some doxycycline, and away went my chronic 'asthmatic bronchitis'.  It also

helped most of my tics, increased my energy, lifted most of my fibromyalgia

pain, etc with ONE round of doxy.  Then I removed foods he was against and the

rest of the fibromyalgia imrpved, as well as my CFS cognitive stuff (at the time

- then PANDAS/Strep hit full force).  My CFS, though, still cycles, but I

manage

it much better.  Dr has me on the meds now (I didn't have them before),

and I'm definitely improved.

I think of Dr Klimas as one of the best CFS docs out there, and she can't cure

all her folks - can really just help improve it.  I think I'm getting as much

improvement as I can right now, and I think I could change some behaviors and

diet issues (I have some major stomach problems right now so I can't eat well),

address chronic anemia, etc.  I haven't given up hope on getting better ... it

just isn't an instant fix.  But still worth it.

HTH
