Guest guest
Hi : That's exactly right...delayed reactions are really hard to pinpoint. The way I was taught to do this was to eat only one food at a time because I have so many sensitivities. This was a real pain but in the end I'm so glad I did it as my reactions went from a rapid heart beat for two hours (So high I couldn't count it) to headaches, tongue burning, itchy eyesd, achy joints, burning stomach, etc. What makes it really hard to pinpoint is if you are already in treatment for Candida and experiencing die-off because, for me, it rehashes all of these symptoms so I'm glad I did it before hand. What I mean by one food at a time is just one item for Breakfast, a different for snack, lunch, snack and dinner. Keep a journal writing down each food you are experimenting with and the results, good or bad, beside it. Sometimes you will get an immediate reaction, sometimes it won't be until later in the day. So, how do you tell which food it is? I've literally had to narrow it down to that one food in a day - each one a different day so I could tell. Again, I'm glad I did this before hand. Right now I'm down to a very slim number of foods that I can actually eat without a reaction. Most meats are OK and vegies but there are many foods I can't go near. The other day I forgot to bring something with me to the doctor's office (thyroid) and he was behind and i was starving so I went to Mrs. Winner's Chicken. UGH! I'm not sure if it was the pepper or the coating or the sugar but I was so sick for two hours afterward I will go hungry from now on unless I have something with me. My naturo. says that as I get better I can try to add things back in but you can bet I will do so very carefully! HA! Blessings, Joyce Food Sensitivity Joyce, How can you tell that you've eaten something that you are sensitive to? Do you have a reaction right away? How do you feel? I've been doing so much reading over the past week I can't remember it all but I remember reading on some web site that if you have Candida you have a delayed reaction to food allergies thus making it hard to pin point just what it was that caused you problems. I also read that if you have delayed reaction food allergies, your more likely to be allergic to a lot more kinds of foods than if you were one of those people who have the immediate reaction to allergic food. I'm trying to sift though all this info and make since of it all. Also, are yams and sweet potatoes okay to eat with butter and sea salts? I've found that I absolutely LOVE these things! ) Hehehe Funny I've gone 34 years without ever eating those little things..... ) in CA

Guest guest
I thought that the sugar was absorbed slowly, as with brown rice. I hope so because I'm having sweet potato with ground deer patties for lunch tomorrow.. G At 11:32 AM 11/27/2002 -0500, you wrote: >I have read that yams are okay.... Guest guest
Carbs turn into 'blood alcohol' which is 'blood sugar' and it will only continue to feed the candida. > >I have read that yams are okay.... Guest guest
I was just reading up on this and read that boiling and steaming all vegetables takes most of the sugar out of them? Any one positive on this? > > >I have read that yams are okay.... I think I read it in the FEAST > WITHOUT > > >YEAST book. Guest guest
I've been staying away from sweet potatoes, because I wasn't sure they were allowed on the diet. This is great news. > > > > >I have read that yams are okay.... I think I read it in the > > FEAST > > > WITHOUT > > > > >YEAST book. Guest guest
Hello, Some how I am getting this groups emails and I joined up for a homeschooling group, but I do find it very interesting. My son has sensory integration disorder and as soon as I put him on the feingold diet his symptoms were immediatly gone, I would say at least by 90%, I also give him gabba, 5-htp and cod liver oil. He is not autistic but that seems to work on his sensory issues and sleeping pattern. When he was younger he would wake up at least 10 -15 times a night, he could not get into the deep rem sleep. I would love to start trying enzymes if that balances his system out, please let me know what I can start with. Here is the website for the diet. feingold.org Thanks Janeen Carol Atkins <catz@...> wrote: Look up this website www.naet.com it is about a therapy that eliminates allergies, it sounds like your son was allergic to the chlorine or something in the pool. It is an amazing therapy that eliminates all sorts of food allergies and chemical allergies. The woman who discovered it also believes that autism is caused by severe allergies. Read her book " Say good-bye to Illness " by Dr Devi Nambudripad. Re: Re: eczema If it doesn't go away, consider that he may not be tolerating the enzymes-my son has a TERRIBLE time with them, unfortunately. --- danasview <danasview@...> wrote: > > > > > Any ideas for helping me figure out how to > eliminate eczema are > > welcome. > > > Eczema was caused by food intolerance at my house. > Try adding all the > enzymes [AFP, ZP, NF], then rotate foods to see what > is still not > tolerated. > > > >>His eczema was clear on this regimen until the > > beginning of July when he went swimming in an > above ground pool for > > three days over a ten day period. My son has sensory integration disorder and as soon as I put him on the feingold diet his symptoms were immediatly gone, Milk and phenols/salicylates are the most common food issues for sensory kids. >>I would love to start trying enzymes if that balances his system out, please let me know what I can start with. You can research here http://www.danasview.net/parent3.htm#supplements I used HNI with much success http://www.houstonni.com/ Dana
Guest guest
I had actually checked when my daughter was about 5 years old with absence seizures. I'd heard that food sensitivies could aggravate the condition. It was more of a just in case thing for us and it turned out that there was a list of no no's. They did a urine test on her and test for all kinds of grains, dairy, sugars, meat, fish, soy, fruits, veggies, etc. I was tested as well and for me they did a saliva test....they say the sensitivities can run in families and it turned out that I had them too. Our homeopath tested us. > > this may seem like an odd question, but how would you know if your child has is sensitive to any food? is there a test for every food? >
Guest guest
A urine test was able to tell food sensitivities? Do you think the test was reliable? Are there some foods that you know you react to? What was the test called?
