Subject: Newbie to diet

Just seen Dr. G this week. Of course I think of questions AFTER I leave. As

if

3+ hours wasn't enough in the office! lol Hoping someone here can chime

in...

Question about 'Red' Fruits...when Dr. G says no red fruits like cherries,

strawberries, watermelon - does that include tomatoes?? Tomatoes are

categorized as a fruit and they're red, so to me I say it's a 'no-no' but

can

anyone confirm? If tomatoes are eliminated, is ketchup out too? Or could

this

be another peanut vs. peanut butter scenario?

Also - I read old archives on bread. Anyone find white bread without High

Fructose Corn Syrup?! I'd rather just avoid it than to give him some since

he's

been off of it for so long already. Same thing for Corn Flakes. Every

single

one I picked up had HFCS....even the unsweetened ones!

Found the goats milk, cheese, yogurt at TJ's....no complaints so far.

Thanks in advance!

I really don't know what Dr G would say, but I have an allergic gastritis

problem (stomach inflammation in response to foods and some meds).  Red food is

a trigger, but tomatoes don't set it off, thank goodness.  Everything else does

- red bell pepper, maybe watermelon, and absolutely any red or pink dye.

Anyway, Dr G didn't take ketchup out of my oldest's diet back when, thankfully

(because he wouldn't eat any meat without it), but try to keep amounts under

control .... it has a lot of sugar in it.

I had the same question on tomatoes and asked Dr G. He said tomatoes are OK

until further notice. Yes, they are red but for now, he is allowing tomatoes.

The same goes for spaguetti sauce, tomato sauce, etc.
