Guest guest
In my opinion, this is a stim behavior. This happens because of neuroinflammation/altered brain chemistry because of the inflammation. It could be allergies, it could be inflammation due to a virus. You could try removing things from his diet or maybe he needs a new antiviral. You should talk to your doctor about it. Hope this helps, > > We started 4 months back with my son. Guest guest
I do not know as he is still non-verbal 4.2 year old. As he does this when he was in good mood also, I do not think he is doing this because of headache or sinus problem. Thank you > > > > We started 4 months back with my son. Guest guest
My son does this also. His eyes were tested and are fine. In our case, I believe this is a stim behavior (cause unknown). Guest guest
I suspect could be close ... it can be a stim, and mild sinus pressure or slightly dry or allergic eyes would also cause pressing like that. I do it without being aware a lot. It feels good to do if I've been exposed to allergens, or if my OCD is up - I can't always tell the difference.  But any time all that is bothering me, deep proprioceptive input will usually ease stims. I'm not asd, but I stim and occasionally tic from PANDAS although that's mostly gone now.) Any time I realize I'm stimming (I play with tape, chomp ice constantly, feel like leaping into the air, etc), I can lift weights, do sit ups, anything that will work my muscles hard for a few minutes, and stimming usually eases. Same with my oldest son - he does well with the wheelbarrow and hanging by the arms, etc when things are off (which again, allergies set off stims here). I'm smelling mold in my front yard, and I may pack us up and go to my mil's house if I can't get rid of it this weekend. ________________________________ From: <jlhank80@...> Sent: Tue, July 20, 2010 11:19:40 AM Subject: Re: Pushing the eye ball from the corner  In my opinion, this is a stim behavior. Guest guest
Kotesh Do not judge his understanding for pain based on your experiences. My son had NO ABILTY TO UNDERSTAND PAIN until his immune system was on the cure. We had a clean break of his right arm and he used the hand to work his key board for an entire day afer the injury. Additionally he did not have the related inflammation because his immune system did not react correctly to the injury. He may well be feeling pressure and not be processing the signals from his nervious system correctly. Take him to a doc that will look into sinus issues! Guest guest
Our 2 year daughter (NT) will do this or similar occasionally - like bring both together or apart. What can be done about it? ________________________________ From: <jlhank80@...> Sent: Tue, July 20, 2010 9:19:40 AM Subject: Re: Pushing the eye ball from the corner In my opinion, this is a stim behavior. Guest guest
Hi, Is your son getting enough calcium? My little guy would push on his eyeballs and we found out that this was a common sign of calcium deficiency. I increased the calcium and it went away. Just my two cents. Guest guest
I'd like to hear more about the lack of pain response. My son has Kernicterus- jaundice poisoning after birth. Guest guest
I see a circular light in the opposite corner (with my eyes closed) when I do this. of course, I do not do it for a stim, but noticed it when I was wiping something out of the corner of my eye before. It is like a blue or dark round spot with a yellow bright ring around it. My guess would be it is akin to looking at one's fingers right up in the face in an odd way.
