He, too, was largely n0nverbal before seeing Dr. G. He would say isolated words here and there, usually confined to wants and needs. He started with Dr. G when he was about 6 years old. He is 10 now and has made incredible strides both developmentally and in general health. He's learned to read, add, subtract and is now learning his multiplication tables. We still have a long way to go, but it is amazing how much he's accomplished. > > I would call Dr. G's office and ask about availability: 818-343-1010. He has been on some type of protocol since he was 2 years old. Chelation, b12, diet, NAET, valtrex, LDN, countless therapies and the list goes on. He is not " severe. " He stims quite a bit, constant verbal stims and is very distracted with them. His sleep is better but it used to be awful. He can trace letters but doesn't want to do anything other than play with water, swim, jump, climb and eat. He cannot focus on anything for very long. He has a mild temper and enjoys running around with his younger brother. I'm giving you this information so you could help me to decide if is something that would be good for us. I was also curious where Dr. Goldberg is and if he is taking new patients. > > Thank you for your time, > > Jen > >
Guest guest
No supplements. This is on of the biggest jumps we have seen with our son is when we took him off the 30+ DAN recommended supplements. Only 1 Flintstones vitamin a day. I know this seems absurd coming from doing DAN... I thought so, but it really made a difference. I think none of these things were actually helping my son but provoking his immune system. > > > > From: Jen <jbidlov@...> > > Subject: New to > > > > Date: Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 10:28 AM > > > > > > > > Hello, I have a 7 year old non-verbal son. Guest guest
We had been doing DAN for years with some improvement, our son definately improved much more when we stopped many of the supplements (some of them were likely revving up his immune system more) also, the slight change in diet made a big difference (many gluten free substitutes which are often whole grain are much more allergenic (i.e. immune response) than very processed white bread )(which dr. g's diet allows in very limited quantities) I knew there was something wrong with my sons immune system (he got sick worse and for much longer than other kids, and often regressed afterwards) I think it would definately be worth checking into. You could read his book The myth of Autism, go on his website www.neuroimmunedr.com they also have contact info on his website. You can also find him speakin on utube He is in Los angeles (tarzana) CA He sees many clients long distance... you would need to come in for initial visit and then he does phone consults and you get labs done locally. It has cost us significantly less than DAN, as most meds are covered, as are our office visits. Be warned he does not like many DAN protocols, but we have seen more improvement with him than we were seeing with DAN so we are happy. If you are interested call the office (info on website) and they will send you a packet to get started.
Guest guest
I agree Sloan. I think my son may have been damaged by them. I will probably never know, but he looks so much better being just on the protocol . Tammy F. > > No supplements.
