Has anyone tested their kids for XMRV or is thinking about doing it? Does anyone

know if Dr. G is for or against getting our kids tested. I am wanting to do so

but am wondering if it is worthwhile in Dr. Goldberg's eyes. We have a phone

consult with him in a couple of weeks but any information anyone has would be

No there is nothing approved. There are several medications developed for AIDS

that are promising and a cocktail approach will probably be used. I personally

would not want my child to be in the earliest groups of people on these meds.

Most are untried on children and will need a short time to be put through

trails. In getting tested the same is true. There are still big concerns that

false negatives or worse false positive can and will occur. Fairly quickly (The

NIH is now running trails on testing for XMRV to protect the national blood

supply) very accurate and consistant tests will be available. Until there are

treatments available there is little reason to get tested. We are talking 6-9

months according to Dr K.
