Kavita,

Yes we have been on Celexa for about a year. We started on 2.5 mg and worked out

way up to 20 mg (Kid is 110 lds). We never give it in the evening always first

thing in the morning. We have been through a number of SSRI's (Zolof, Effexor)

and Celexa works best for us. With each med change or dosage change. I see that

it takes about two weeks for the kid to fully adjust. We generally see bed

wetting for the first week or more. If it does not stop after a week or two you

have gone to high in the dosage. I have been told to never give these in the

evenings. I believe as the med wears off daily - Connor's sleep patterns become

very deep sleep - We have no problems keeping a 9:30 bedtime and if you let him

(over the summer) he can sleep for 10 - 12 hours when he is in a growth spurt.

I has really helped with focus.

Subject: Celexa- First day didn't sleep

Hello,

Today was the first day I gave my son his first SSRI Celexa ( 5mg, washed

coating) and he got up around 1:30 a.m and didn't sleep afterwards. Melatonin

which always worked on him didn't work too.

He is fully active and has no sign of sleeping. Does this happen with celexa ?

Need help .

Thanks............Kavita Jain

I think that might be the reason- I might have given it in morning time.

Thanks.
