Guest guest
Hi, After reading your post, I was wondering...can you tell me where the Great Plains Lab is and how to find a doctor who uses it? Thanks Hucklbuk Re: Re: Die Off How do you know if you have leaky gut? Can you feel it? Does it cause certain symptoms? Also, I talked with a doctor who wants to do some kind of urine test, which will be sent off to the Great Plains Lab in Kansas. She says this will check for any products the Candida produces. Has anyone else here ever had this done? If anyone has, did you find it useful? I am really afraid it will turn up negative, as all of the cultures they have done in my mouth came up negative. Does anyone know why the thrush doesn't seem to like to culture? I find this puzzling, as the same doctor who made the diagnosis did the culture. Unfortunately, he was only a temp. doc and I had to go to my regular physician, who I am convinced knows even less about medicine than I do. Does anyone else here have problems with Candida in the mouth? Or is everyone else's mostly intestinal? Any input would be greatly appreciated. *** *** --- kornbelt@... wrote: > Treating candida can be quite a challenge, and > involves a radical > life change with respect to diet and stress, > especially if you have > leaky gut as well. Guest guest
A mannitol/lactulose test will reveal a leaky gut problem. Here's a good source for this: http://www.gsdl.com/assessments/findsystems/gastro.html Your doctor will have to order it. I suggest the CDSA and the parasitology test as well. Guest guest
Liz, I have had sinus problems off and on throughout my life due to a pollup, or something like that. But recently when I get a runny nose, it looks like the same nasty stuff that plauges me in my mouth. I have also been getting a lot of sinus headaches out of nowhere, and when I lay down at night they kind of tingle and feel funny (it's hard to explain). I know that what's in my nose and throat is coming from my sinuses (thanks to that pesky damn post-nasal drip). I don't know if what you had is simular to the weird tingle I experience, but it sounds kind of similar. I guess everyone's reaction is a little bit different, as I always seem to get the weird ones! But the part that bothers me about the brain is that I heard you can die from it that way. *** *** --- Rabbitbrain@... wrote: > > , could you explain what symptoms you had > > when you got it in your sinus? Guest guest
Hucklbuk, This is hard to answer...I think the great plains lab has a web site, though. If anyone knows the address or has any sites that link to it, I would be grateful for the info. The way I found out about my doctor was through a friend of a friend type thing, who referred me to a doctor in new york, who then gave me a list of physicians in my area (california). Also, I'm not sure how reliable it is, but there is a web site that you can do a doctor search on...I found it helpful. It's http://www.acam.org . There is a doctor search somewhere, the way I found it was by going into the 'public information' part, or something like that, where it informed me that they have no public info, but they do offer a doctor search. You can search for a physician in your area that deals with what the site classifies as YS (yeast syndrome). You could probably call the doctor and ask what testing they offer. Hope this helps, I don't know if you've seen the site yet or not. *** *** --- Huckle Buck <hucklbuk@...> wrote: > Hi, > > After reading your post, I was wondering...can you > tell me where the Great > Plains Lab is and how to find a doctor who uses it? > Thanks > > Hucklbuk > __________________________________________________
Guest guest
, I am really glad someone else is experiencing weird symptoms other than me. I do know there are oodles of different varieties of fungus. Maybe we have different kinds. I do get sinus headaches and sinus attacks although mostly loose clear fluid. Some times bloody and sometimes green. Talking about a weird tingle, I get that in my upper back. I had a really bad tingling episode in my lower back and went to the doctors about it. This started about an hour after I ate. The doctor never heard these symptoms but wondered if it was H ployi. He told me to take 2 teaspoons of Pepto Bismol 4 times a day. Before each meal for 2 weeks. On days 3 & 4 I got a burning sensation where the tingling was. And that was the end of that. BUT I still have it in my shoulder blade. I just came from a visit with him today and he is giving me a blood test for H plyori. I bet I have this in my whole system. Something you may want to look into. If H. plyori is in your blood stream it could colonize anywhere. Any news I get regarding my gut, I'll post it here. It seams that we may be suffering from more things than just Candida. But it's Canida that sets the ball rolling toward other problems. LIZ Re: Re: Die Off Liz, I have had sinus problems off and on throughout my life due to a pollup, or something like that. Guest guest
Liz; i didn't know H-pylori could get into your system, i had that about 2yrs. ago & we got mine cleared up with Herbs. i was surprised because the surgeon said only antibiotics and bismol would clear it up. it never came back. mine was in the stomach & they did the scope and took a pc. thats how they found it. i get burning in my back, but i have parasites but don't know if they are there. Guest guest
Mog, I am learning as I go. When I mentioned to this new doctor that I get gastritis attacks after eating sweets, It was then than he nailed it to be H. plyori. I have no stomach ulser. But he is going to leave it up to this Gastro-Doc to find it. I was surprized there was a blood test. I also get that tingling near my rib-cage. I believe I have parasites too but they have not been found. If I can tackle this H. plyori thing and get it out of the way, then they must listen to logic!! Will post when I know more. Guest guest
This sounds exactly like me!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what that tingle is...sometimes it almost feels like electromagnetic or something. I had that before I started changing my diet. My sinus troubles go back and forth. So right now it seems like infection, so I started elderberry to see if that will clear things up. moons <, I am really glad someone else is experiencing weird symptoms other than me. Guest guest
Pearly - have you any Slippery Elm herb?? Its best if you don't get it in pills or lozenges. Get the herb loose - and mix a few heaping tbsp. with a bit of whatever juice you can handle. Do this about 4x a day off and on and your stomach pains will go away. If you have IBS (irritable bowel) you need to get flax seeds - crush them every other day or so (so they are fresh with nutrients) in your coffee grinder - eat tbsp's of this off and on also all day - you will have normal bowel movements and feel a lot better. wendy Die Off Yup - Pearl - sounds like you're 'right on track'.... you can really get sick even without meds when you change the diet....amazing, isn't it? wendy >>> I have what feels like a sinus headache , even my face hurts. I also am having problems with my stomach . I feel awful !! I am glad I didn't start the candida meds, and I am also glad that I have all of you to talk to. Before this list, I have never told anyone that I have candida. I tried....but they think it is some kind of a venereal disease...or something contagious. My own daughter doesn't even know. By the way...I bought some Spelt noodles, can I have them now, in the first week? My palpitations are very slight now , so I don't want to rish it again. Guest guest
Hi Amy! Welcome - I also homeschool... I don't have as many children as you - mine are 16, 14, and almost 13 - been schooling at home for 10 years this year. I've had a lot of what you mention - esp. on the first die-off... one of the things that may help your gas is food combining - eating proteins separate - since they take longest to digest - and not eating them at the same time as simple carbs (white flour, or fruits) which take short periods of time to digest .... they get trapped together in the stomach and FERMENT. So.. that might be something to think about... If you're already doing that - the other thing is " leaky gut " which Jonah has informed us there is a file uploaded to this egroup that is a book on leaky gut - plus there is many sites on line... wendy Die off First I should introduce myself. My name is Amy, I am 34, married to an awesome husband and am the homeschooling mother of 10, ages 13-4 (8 adopted from foster care). I have just recently realized that my medical problems are probably resulting from candida overgrowth. I started using the Pure Body Institute's " Natures Cleansing Program " 4 days ago. In addition I take Pancreatin, Glandular Thymus, Glandular Pituitary, Glandular Thyroid, Glandular Adrenal, Curcumin, Bromelain, DHEA and a Women's Stress Vitamin. I also plan to add on HCl. My question is this. I am very nauseos and today my ears have started itching like crazy. I also have terrible gas (the burping kind). Are these normal symptoms of die off or am I not tolerating this regimen? If its die off, how long does it usually take to go away? Guest guest
Let's see...I added in more carbs after feeling like heck without them. I am a stick right now and that's the only way I can keep from losing more weight. My first week went well. The second week all heck broke loose and I threw up, had diarrhea, itchy facial rash, a hive here and there, weak legs (maybe from no carbs), constant headache, irritability. Good for you for controlling it better than I! I really wanted to get the whole thing over with so I went to the anticandida diet cold turkey. > I have been almost perfect on the candida diet--once in a great while some > brown rice, popcorn, a piece of chocolate with malitol..and I'm not really > experiencing die-off..just sugar withdraw headaces, maybe some burning in my > nose, my ears don't hurt anymore. Guest guest
the " beauty " of the candida purge is the ingredients (and the way you take them). The liquid bentonite will 'adsorb' the die off toxins... Guest guest
I'm guessing that cutting back to relieve die-off symptoms will not ultimately prolong recovery. I'm thinking that keeping your body under as little digestive stress as possible during this time is just as important as beating back the Candida overgrowth. What's the point of having less Candida growth if your body is so weakened you can't sustain a long term recovery? _____ From: lagunabrifly [mailto:brianflynn3@...] Sent: Monday, May 31, 2004 10:07 AM Subject: [ ] die off I'm one week on the program.
