Guest guest
Do those of you that use rice milk made with white rice make it yourself or is there a website I can order some from? I am not having any luck googling it. TIA, Ellen
Guest guest
Ellen, When my son was around 6 months old, I made my own rice milk. I am a chinese, We believe rice milk is essential in our children's diet. Here is how you make your white rice milk. You can put rice and a pint of water, cook it till boil, lower your flame. Then thicken it. Once it is thickened, You use a strainer to strain it. Discard the remaining in the strainer. Add a teaspoon of salt as you like into your milk. ________________________________ From: Ellen Jordan <e.jordan29@...> nids Sent: Wed, October 13, 2010 12:53:21 AM Subject: white rice milk  Do those of you that use rice milk made with white rice make it yourself or is there a website I can order some from? Guest guest
Both. Don't google it, just go to you tube, is better to see actual people making it instead of read it only. Just put about one cup of white rice with water overnigth, the next morning or after 8-10 hours, get rid of that water and put the rice on the blender with new water, i use about one liter of water for every cup of rice, depends of your taste, i don't like it too concentrated. blend the rice with 1/2 litre put it trough a fine colander or cheese cloth blend the rice meal again with the other half litre of water use the colander again that is your rice milk. Ipersonally like to add stevia, sometimes vanilla. many add chocolate, I can't my little one has sensitivity to it. What I do is use it on cereal or make fruit milk shakes with it, I just add banana or other fruit the to the milk, blend it and you got a nice breakfast drink. by the way. I always blend and the end, vit d3, selenium and zinc to the rice milk. If you want to buy it, almost any store sells it, but there are comments about the brand name " rice dream " , one of the most commun, that allegally has gluten in it. When I buy milk, I always get the almond milk or hemp bliss milk and last the rice milk. try making your own almond milk or brazil nut milk (this last one is a great source of selenium), the same way as rice milk and is delicious, you can always use the meal for cookies or cooking. Guest guest
Be careful with rice milk because it contains a lot of sugar which feeds yeast. M
