Guest guest
It sounds like it could be yeast. You can add an antifungal like diflucan but or pharmacist told us you can not take diflucan w/ Ery Ped. You can use azithromycyin and diflucan. Â From: chocolatiluv <chocolatiluv@...> Subject: Understanding change in behaviors Date: Sunday, October 10, 2010, 1:49 PM Â To anyone who have had this with their child or anyone with imput. My grandson for 3 wks. has been doing great all the positives more focused, very happy, smiling(even though not sleeping)great interaction with everyone, some ind. speech, eating always is off & on doing good work at school. Then 4 days ago all changed he is aggressive toward others, sensory issues again, self abusivive, sleeps issues continues having difficulty going back to sleep this has been going on forever for this child. It is so difficult to understand why he is having these problems now after doing so well for 3 wks. The only change is the inc. in tenex Sept. 24 from 1/8 to 1/2 tab a.m. the eve. dose is the same 1/4 tab. Lots of flu in our area maybe this is a cause but normally he is more focused when sick. The other thing is a PANDAS flare test never show anything although he has been on Erped 1 tsp 2/day. he is 12 yrs. weighs 73 llbs. for many months which has helped. Guest guest
This sounds like what is often described on these boards as PANDAS but our child took tenex for a couple of weeks and it caused blurry vision and constipation (see side effects) Sent from my iPhone On Oct 10, 2010, at 1:49 PM, " chocolatiluv " <chocolatiluv@...> wrote: To anyone who have had this with their child or anyone with imput. Guest guest
I use Diflucan and Ery Ped together with no problems, and my pharmacist didn't say anything about possible drug interactions. I couldn't find any containdications on the Internet either. I know that you should take antifungals and antibiotics at different times.  If anyone knows more about this, I would be interested in researching it some more.  TIA,  Robyn From: chocolatiluv <chocolatiluv@...> Subject: Understanding change in behaviors Date: Sunday, October 10, 2010, 1:49 PM  To anyone who have had this with their child or anyone with imput. Guest guest
Seems for some reason I remember Dr G explained why he can give diflucan and ery ped - don't remember any details though. The question of ery ped's interaction with diflucan and nizoral have come up several times over the years - there might be an explanation in the old posts... ________________________________ From: Fund <susan_fund@...> Sent: Sun, October 10, 2010 12:53:23 PM Subject: Re: Understanding change in behaviors  It sounds like it could be yeast. Guest guest
HI Carol.  Sounds like those problems might be caused for a medical reason, but I thought I would add the following. We are throwing a lot at our children, trying to heal their bodies and catch them up with the various therapies. Over the years, my son probably two times per year slips up again and starts doing things that he had not done for a long time. It always seems to happen after he gets possibly burned out from working hard or senses my stress. So finally, after eight years of pulling my hair out when this happened, I try to back off on some of my demands and go easy and do mostly things that he likes until it passes. Also now, even though we have to work very hard to try to catch up, I work more on balance and doing things he enjoys. An example is he recently got a set of drums and really enjoys doing concerts for us. Having something he likes is a good carrot for having him get his work done.  I hope this helps, but you might also want to talk to Dr. Goldberg. Hang in there, I think it will pass.  Lynn From: chocolatiluv <chocolatiluv@...> Subject: Understanding change in behaviors Date: Sunday, October 10, 2010, 1:49 PM  To anyone who have had this with their child or anyone with imput. Guest guest
> Thanks Lynn I agree with what your saying We really try to help him enjoy & experience everything. The last 4-5 days he is not interested in anything or us.I guess it was such a drastic change from doing so good for the 3 wks. then back to where he was trying to understand what is going on. Had blood drawn today hopefully this will give us some answers. I will pass this on to my daughter. Guest guest
Lynn, Great advice. Sometimes we are so busy " fixing " our kids we forget they are children that just need to be loved. When things got too crazy, we sometimes would cancel all the therapy for a week, so I could be mommy instead of his case manager. Guest guest
I just had a thought - don't know if it will be connected or the same for yours... my 9yr old son has CFS (being diagnosed w/PDD now but it's just the cognitive dysfunction and some social issues resulting from it I believe - he was typical prior to 5 when this happened after stopping Goldberg's protocol). We went to Disney at the beginning of this year. My son had been feeling good, seemed great, hadn't had any real concerns for some time. Within 2 hrs of walking the first day, he was begging to go back to the hotel. By the second day, he was crying a lot, and by the end of that day, the boy who is always the sweetest child had punched me in the face in a rage and had several public tantrums. We put him in a wheelchair for the rest of the week. He didn't look up or around him for a day and a half before he finally started observing anything around him and finally having any fun. He recovered pretty well and was perky by the end of the week (but riding in that chair and only walking to the ride) but it took time to get back to where he had been. I just wonder if your son felt so good, and since is considered the same as CFS, if he didn't have a much higher activity level? And if he did, then up the tenex dose near the same time, it all tanked? Like having a CFS crash? I could suspect that a kid who is 'newer' on the protocol could take longer to recover too. Anyway, I do actually believe something else has set him back, likely an illness, but I just thought of our experience in a kid who had been doing great until he walked casually for two hours, and then just lost it for days. And if it isn't related to your child, thought I'd still throw it out there for kids who seem tired that head out to Disney - those tantrums might not just be sensory overload - might always consider a wheelchair if your kid has lower energy or has been ill and just totally regresses. They're worth the rental price anyday. ________________________________ From: chocolatiluv <chocolatiluv@...> Sent: Mon, October 11, 2010 10:25:50 PM Subject: Re: Understanding change in behaviors  > Thanks Lynn I agree with what your saying We really try to help him enjoy & >experience everything.
