Guest guest
My son tanked after his chicken pox vaccine. How does Dr Goldberg decide which herpes anti viral to use? Does he just keep switching from one to another. We have tried valtrex and my son and he broke out in rashes and coldsores. His behavior became terrible ( he was attacking us ). We stayed on it for about 4 months but had to finally quit. He has been on Imunovir for 6 months now with some minor gains. I am thinking of adding back in the valtrex but was wondering if I should try acyclovir or famvir instead. Any help is greatly appreciated. I would think when #`s are not where they should be he changes the anti viral. Thw first time with DAN my grandson was on valtrex he broke out with cold sores ect. this time he isn`t. I think with DAN doctor his dose wasn`t right from what I understand this can cause more problems. I would assume that the cold sores ect is die off hard to say all kids are different. Guest guest
Hi , For my so he skipped the valtrex cause he had done it with a DAN but only for 1 month, so he thought it might be ineffective. He did Famvir which didnt lower titers, so then to Acylovir which apparently is an older one and dosed 5x times a day. this had brought down titer except the CMV. I think he bases the change on whether or not titers are going down. > > My son tanked after his chicken pox vaccine. How does Dr Goldberg decide which herpes anti viral to use? Guest guest
With SSRI i think it is more trial and error... try one, if it doesnt work or there are negative consequences, he moves to the next. .. but he only does the simple ssris: paxil, prozac, zoloft, celexa > > -- > > I have often wondered that myself! Guest guest
Dovile, Here is the link from Dr. G's website where he lists his recommendations for initial labwork: http://www.neuroimmunedr.com//Proposed_Work-Up_/proposed_work-up_nids.ht\ ml Velma  ________________________________ From: firk87 <firk87@...> Sent: Sun, August 15, 2010 12:29:44 PM Subject: Re: Re: Herpes VIrus  Hi guys,  I wanted to ask you which tests to do to start the treatment to get a comprehensive look of what's happening within my son's body? When he was around 19 months he got eczema herpeticum kinda nasty stuff, after he got better he started having outbreaks on his face and lips. I know now for sure that he has herpes virus in him, but can he have something else too? The outbreak on his face wasn't like cold sores, more like pimpals crowded in one place. We used Mupirocin 2% oinment and it helped.  Dovile From: Sloan <Sloan_smith@...> Subject: Re: Herpes VIrus Date: Sunday, August 15, 2010, 10:15 AM  yes, but there a couple herpes related virus Dr. G watches: HHV6, EBV, HHV1 & 2, and CMV > > > > My son tanked after his chicken pox vaccine.
