Guest guest
My son is in the midst of a PANDAs flare up. Our DAN doc just wrote a script for Ery Ped. Does anyone know if Ery Ped works better than azithromycin? I have done a lot of research and still not sure what would work best. Thanks! Guest guest
My sons OCD is through the roof and he is having severe separation anxiety from me (his primary care giver). He keeps checking on wher I am in the house every few minutes. These are 2 typical symtoms of PANDAs > From: erikadyan71@... <erikadyan71@...> > Subject: Re: PANDAS > > Date: Saturday, September 18, 2010, 10:19 AM > - > > How do you know that your son is in the midst of a PANDAS > flare up? > > Thanks > > - > > Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry® > > PANDAS > > My son is in the midst of a PANDAs flare up. Guest guest
Hey , It can vary a bit w/each child, but I do believe EryPed is a better choice than azithromycin, at least in my experience. Sometimes one antibiotic might possibly target strep itself better, but you need to use the antibiotic that has a more impact on how the immune system is responding. EryPed can also be given for a longer period of time, which is key to addressing PANDAS. Really, any time the ASO titer is elevated, he should be on eryped or something similar until it comes down, not just giving the med when it flares up. I've also found that antifungals with the antibiotic - the two together - are far more effective than apart. Some people are finding minocycline helpful, but I believe the child has to be around 10yrs old or at least have all their teeth in before that can be used. HTH ________________________________ From: Fund <susan_fund@...> Sent: Sat, September 18, 2010 9:10:53 AM Subject: PANDAS  My son is in the midst of a PANDAs flare up.
