immunovir and side effects

We are about to start our 5 year old son on immunovir per Dr. G's request. We

are leaving on vacation for ten days starting on Sunday. Are there side effects

or a die off period that would make it a better idea to start this after our

vacation? Also, I notice how many people say their children have been on

anti-virals for years and years. At what point do they ever go off of all these

meds? Does Dr. G start to ween kids off of these once their labs look good?
