Guest guest
Just wanted to share an experience we had this Summer and how it relates to socializing our children. We signed our son up for swim team this summer and it had a very positive result in both his socilaization and sense of self worth. We had tried kung fu and soccer with but they were not for him. T always enjoyed swimming and the swim team forced him to interact with others, follow rules and compete. I think swim team is good for children like ours because they are part of a team, but compete individually. Also I firmly believe that water is soothing to children with sensory issues. T competed in meets which are chaotic, imagine 200 kids, tinny loudspeakers and competitive parents. By the end of the season he was beating out other kids in lap races and got a trophy for most improved junior swimmer. I realise what worked for my son will not work for all but I firmly believe a good swim team helps socialization and self worth.
