Guest guest
It took six months on the high dose of Valtrex and a food allergy rotation diet to really notice some results (oh, also using melatonin at night to sleep and get quality rest). I got more done in the seventh month than I had done in two years prior. It really kicked my energy levels back into high gear. Like all of us with CFS/FMS, I also use a lot of supplements. Recuperation did a lot for me also and gave me the minerals I needed. I use CMO (cetyl myristoleate) with glucosamine and MSM for muscle pain. I do notice when I forget to make up my supplement packets and I forget to take calcium and magnesium that I get more muscle cramps and hurt more. It's all about finding what works for your body and needs. Prescription for Nutritional Healing said what I believe in, those of us with FMS have a greater need for supplementation as it takes more for our body to do well. I've always needed to take more than most people. I have been taking Voltaren (diclofenac) for the anti-inflammatory pain that keeps me out of the chiropractor's office every day, vicodin in half-doses for pain when I overwork. I had to go on HRT (hormone replacement therapy) because the hot flashes kept me awake every hour at night and I was exhausted from not sleeping. Melatonin is a hormone that helps with the sleeping also. I used to take 9 mg, then 6 mg, now 3 mg nightly and I'm asleep in 20 minutes. I am very active, always have been, but was limited for awhile before 2001 when I really crashed (found Dr. Dantini in 2003) as I was doing way too much, had too many part-time jobs, plus taking care of ill in-laws, church and school and work activities. I learned to say NO (if I couldn't make up my mind, I learned the answer was no) and that it was okay to take naps (I actually have permission from Dr. Dantini for this, he says we HAVE to take naps). Hope this encourages some of you. in La Selva Beach CA On 9/19/2010 8:45 PM, Marcia on wrote: > > , did you feel better after taking the anti-virals for a year? > > M. > > On Sep 19, 2010, at 2:43 PM, Schmidt wrote: > > > When I was tested for viruses, these came up: Herpes1, 6, EBV and > > parvo. > > My fibro doctor, Dr. Dantini, from Florida does phone consults > > and works with your regular physician.
