Guest guest
Does anyone know if antibiotics (I'm on cefdinir and clarithromycin) can affect a woman's menstrual cycle? I'm on day 43 here. I've never had a cycle this long in my life, but I shouldn't be pregnant! Starting to get worried, and Google is totally not helping. Thanks!Shauna--

Guest guest
When I was on Rifampin, I didn't have a period for 2 months, and I only took it for 7 days due to issues. So I wouldn't be surprised, but I'd call your doctor just in case. Guest guest
I too took Rifampin twice and got my period 30 days late both times. I have taken every other antibiotic and have never had this problem but the Lyme is also messing with my hormones so my levels are way out of wack. Either way, my doctors have no clear cut answer other than early menopause in the making.Juli
Guest guest
Antibiotics cause you to have a high levels of estrogen, so maybe that is the cause of it, try not to go on them and try to lose weight, and maybe ur hormones will balance themselves out.DamariseTo: Lyme_and_Rife From: julimancini@...Date: Mon, 4 Jun 2012 13:07:44 -0700Subject: Re: OT: antibiotics and menstrual cycle I too took Rifampin twice and got my period 30 days late both times. Guest guest
Thanks, , Juli, Damarise. I had no idea antibiotics raised with estrogen levels. That's no good, as I had estrogen dominance to begin with! I haven't got weight to lose, though. I'll ask my LL doctor next week and she what she says.
