My youngest does great on 37.5mg of effexor, but can't get it up from there.

It's a rough start, though.  Pupils get real dilated ...

A local psychiatrist started my other son on it by using the non-XR type first

and starting lower from there (Dr R had said we'd try it on him too but I needed

a local doc doing the rx'ing here due to school issues), and I noticed no

negative side effects doing it that way - much less intense.  Then he was

switched over to the 37.5 xr.  No negatives again.  Jury is out as to whether

there's much positive either, but I do think he's doing better in school.  He's

just mean tempered, but I think doubt that has too much to do with effexor,

unless it's increasing sensory issues. He needs a lot more tweaking.

It made my youngest a much happier person, though.  Much less OCD - thank

goodness.  I can't say it has changed his world at school, though.

Subject: Effexxor

Ok,  it has been a rough month and trying to get caught up again with

e-mails.

We were doing Lexapro and after 5 weeks into it he started to get very

aggressive; non compliance and agitated.  It took a while to figure out because

after the first 3 weeks he was doing wonderful then we went down hill.

We have started effexxor and if any of you are using it or have can you please

give me some feed back.  I heard that you have to watch it because if causes

high blood pressure and it is hard to notice on children .
