Guest guest
, I'm not a doctor and can't say for sure, but this is my opinion. Ask your friend if she trusts her pharmacist. He/she may be willing to divide the Rx into several child-strength doses. He might feel he should call the doctor to confirm this is ok, but coming from a pharmacist the doc might be open to it. Also, the pharmacist could surely advise your friend about possible side effects of the recommended vs reduced dose. I think they would be better off with child-strength doxy for at least 3 weeks, but something is better than nothing! Khaya > > My friend had the children seen this morning and the doctor gave her a one time, high dose of doxy (which surprises me, they are 6 and 8). He felt this was the best course of action. He called in the script, so she does not know the dosage, but when she picks it up, she will let me know. > What is your opinion on one time high dose of doxy for children? > >
Guest guest
Hi Khaya, MMS is known as the most potent pathogen killer, killing at least 95% of all known pathogens and none can become immune to it... However, when it comes to acute Lyme disease, while I am sure MMS will kill it off, I always suggest Doxy and MMS as Doxy alone has about an 80% success rate... Sure MMS should do even a better job, but I don't want to take that small chance I am wrong, I know Doxy has a good history for acute Lyme. And I just don't believe this is a time to experiment with any replacements to Doxy unless there is absolute evidence of something better... We only get one shot at killing the acute infection... Take care, Jim > > > > > > > > > > For those of us who want to have antibiotics on hand, there is one easy way to do so.While idont advocate antibiotics except in an emwergency situation( such as a tick bite) you can order from kvvetsupply.com and look under fish antibiotics. It is absolutely the same antibiotics that humans take ,but packaged by them for fish ,because fish dont need a prescription. Its sold in bottles of 100 capsules. They do this actually for owners of kennels who want antibiotics on hand when a dog is sick or injured.I discovered vet supply places online when I used to run sled dogs and another dog sledder told me about this easy way to get antibiotics for the dogs > > > > > > > > Re: OT Doxy one time dose > > Posted by: " goldenmain517@ " goldenmain517@ ratliff_donna > > Date: Sun Jun 24, 2012 12:07 pm ((PDT)) > > > > It > > would be very helpful, that if each family that lives near the woods or > > in my case, a nature preserve with deer in our back yard to always have > > Doxy in the house. Guest guest
hi Jim and all, I took doxy for an acute lyme case (reinfected, with the bullseye rash,,whole works!), and the lyme started creeping back 6 months after I stopped, so I'm not so sure any more about it's efficacy, even for a brand new infection. It DID help immensely to bring me back, but I was disappointed when all the pain and disability returned later. It was then I turned to salt/C, which slowly took away much of that initial pain. warmly, Suzy Hi Khaya, MMS is known as the most potent pathogen killer, killing at least 95% of all known pathogens and none can become immune to it... Guest guest
For anyone who wants to have a supply of Doxy on hand and can't get a prescription. I have ordered from alldaychemist.com and you can order antibiotics and other prescription meds without a prescription....prices are some of the cheapest around, but there is a $25 shipping fee however that is no matter how large the order. It takes about 10 days to 2 weeks to get the meds. They take visa but not master card, I only have a M.C. so I got a visa debit card from Walmart and loaded it with enough money to cover the order. --
Guest guest
Hi Beverly,I second this recommendation! I've ordered a number of different generics from this site and they're high quality, reliable, and mercifully, don't require script, which is a savings right there.Be well,Léna For anyone who wants to have a supply of Doxy on hand and can't get a prescription. Guest guest
Hi Khaya, Doxycycline Hyclate is readily available on the Internet without a prescription... It is sold as an abx for pets, it is identically the same product... Jan S posted one supplier, their are a few more... I highly suggest everyone keep a bottle of Doxy in their fridge in case of a new tick bite... I had a new bite 3 weeks ago, first I applied Lugol's to the bite site, then I took 200 mg of Doxy, later I applied MMS to the bite site.. Doxy has a proven track record for acute Lyme, I tell everyone this is the time not to use natural as Doxy just seems to work and very well.. The risk is something natural may not be able to kill Lyme or the incorrect dose is taken. Amoxicillin, Penicillin and a few more are also readily available..
