Guest guest
They specialize in creating a specific legal document called a Special Needs Trust, which works on conjunction with your will. It is intended to protect your child's future access to assets, and importantly , assure that any assets he/she has will not be a factor in determining eligibility for government assistance. Say you have a child who will be dependent or partially dependent on a guardian into their adult life. A Special Needs Trust manages whatever assets they have that have come from your estate, inheritance from relatives, gifts, etc. It creates a structure for the management and dispensing of funds in support of the child into the future. And it prevents these assets from being completely drained before government assistance kicks in.
