Guest guest
Debbie, Were you following the suggested portions, or just eating the right foods with the ER4YT foods? Were you continuing with the Coconut oil while using ER? Lexapro > Lexapro came out in September. Its made by Forrest Pharma. > Its the part of the Celexa that was the active ingredient. Guest guest
Debbie, So do I! It is hard for non-hypothyroid people to understand that sometimes you do everything right and nothing works! I do believe that Dr. D might come to a different conclusion about VCO if he tests it as opposed to regular refined coconut oil - which represents 99.99% of the coconut oil available to the general public. The VCO was the only thing that raised my basal temperature from a steady low of 95.8 to 96.2 (yes!!) to 96.8 (now usual) and a few times up to 97.4!! BTW, VCO, or a piece of coconut, also stops hot flashes dead in its tracks....I personally know 18 people that it has worked for. True, most of them are BTD unaware, so using it has not been an issue for them. I have never had hot flashes, and time will tell for my own personal experience. Using VCO is my ONLY avoid!! How did you use it on your dog? Blessings, Jannette ___I have been on ER4YT for about 7 months. I only started the coconut oil a week ago. I was compliant for 7 months which inlcuded 40-60 min of walking at leat 6 days a week at a brisk pace. I still only drink water and green tea and I am still following the principals of the program. The addition of 2 smoothies aday with coconut oil 1.5 TBS each glass, nothing else but pineapple juice and mango juice as the base with the fresh fruit. My appetite is subsiding, do doubt I am not as hungry and I have more energy, after onyly a few days. I used the coconut oil on my dog for hyperpigmentation dermatits and systemic yeast infections in the ears, and it cleared both up! I am sure VCO is not for everyone and I am not suggesting anyone go this route. I am just letting anyone know thats interested, it works for me. The added weight I had put on from the thyroid, almost 40 lbs, was affecting my joints and me personally. I will continue to eat right,I believe in this plan, but I will also take coconut oil to speed up my metabolism and help with the weight and energy problems. Guest guest
Yes I talk about that also with my doctor, and he said he didn't think it was necessary. Doc said seem the problem is with your other half. So what does he do agrees with someone I see for maybe 1 hour a day. -----Original Message-----From: sielick817@... The only recommended dose of Lexapro is 10 mg/day which would be equal to 40 mg of Celexa (my teenage son became psychotic on just 20 mg/day of Celexa). From what I have heard, many doctors are unaware of how little the recommended dose is. > Anyone have any experience with Lexapro?

Guest guest
, did you have any side effects with the Lexapro? Im not going to start it until after the 8th, I have a wedding to go to and I really need to be there, I will be so nervous if I start a new med and may not be able to go. I dont know if I introduced myself but I'm Terry, 50 yrs. old and 40+ of those years has been a constant battle with agoraphobia, emetophobia (fear of vomiting) and almost constant anxiety. I am married to a wonderful, supportive husband who just learned 3 mos. ago about my emetophobia, because of this I am afraid to be alone. So he had to quit work in 1997 to stay home with me, I have a home~based business. I haven't vomited since I was 8 or 10, I can't remember. I am blessed to be healthy. Right now I take Alprazolam, 1 mg. a day which has given me a very small part of my life back. I can now grocery shop without having to pay my friends to do it for me, I have attended 3 weddings close by, gone to the mall. These are major steps for me. But I wasnt more. I haven't seen the ocean since I was 19. This is my goal. I went to my dr. last Thursday and asked him about Lexapro, he said without hesitation it was excellent. So I have a month's supply that he gave me. I FEAR nausea or vomiting side effects, this scares the hell out of me. I think I have reached a point where I HAVE to try this. I have read so many positive thibgs about this med on this board and on the web that I just have to try it. I did buy a pill cutter and am going to cut each pill in 4ths and take a piece at a time for 2 weeks, I may start out slower than the average person, but if within a month or 2 I am up to 5mg and its working for me, then it was well worth it. Has anyone ever vomited with this med in the beginning, or had really bad nausea? please be honest, thank you. Terry
Guest guest
Hi Terry. Gosh, can I ever relate to you! I have a hypersensitivity to any stomach discomfort and it has caused my to withdraw from many activities I used to enjoy (I too have an absolute craving to see the ocean!!). Anyway, I can't urge you enough to begin the Lexapro as soon as possible. I had some nausea (reminded me of morning sickness) when I started Paxil and Zoloft (at different times in the past) but I had no problem AT ALL with the Lexapro. I was pretty amazed actually; I never threw up with the Paxil and Zoloft but I felt nauseated a lot the first couple of weeks. I certainly expected to feel that with the Lexapro as well and was prepared to have to " tough it out " again. But, I felt fine. Maybe a bit drowsy and cloudy-headed but no stomach discomfort at all. I started at 5 mg. and have remained at this level because my anxiety level is drastically reduced and I have been able to comfortably do things that I haven't done for years. For example, I just returned from taking my 3 boys out to lunch at a restaurant. That would not have happened a few months ago. So.....please do yourself the biggest favor that you can do for yourself and start the Lexapro soon. I am praying that you will have as easy a transition as I did and that your anxiety will dissipate greatly as well! S. Re: Lexapro , did you have any side effects with the Lexapro? Guest guest
Hi Terry. Gosh, can I ever relate to you! I have a hypersensitivity to any stomach discomfort and it has caused my to withdraw from many activities I used to enjoy (I too have an absolute craving to see the ocean!!). I don't think I have a sensitive stomach or are sensitive to meds. I have been on 2 med actually in my lifetime, Atenolol, which caused me rare side effects of bruising on lges, freezing feet and loose stools, but that med was temporary, the high pulse rate I was having at the time was due to extreme anxiety. I haven't vomited in over 40 years (knocing wood HARD) and I KNOW this is what brings on my agoraphobia. I too want to see the ocean again so bad, I know if I ever do I will ball like a baby in joy!!! i hope it happens someday before I'm too old to enjoy it. Many say Lexapro is a miracle drug, if it gets me to the ocean which is an hour and a half, away, then it definately is a miracle drug. Anyway, I can't urge you enough to begin the Lexapro as soon as possible. I had some nausea (reminded me of morning sickness) when I started Paxil and Zoloft (at different times in the past) but I had no problem AT ALL with the Lexapro. I certainly expected to feel that with the Lexapro as well and was prepared to have to " tough it out " again. But, I felt fine. Maybe a bit drowsy and cloudy-headed but no stomach discomfort at all. That is SO good to hear. There are a few in my emetophobia group that take it and have no nausea side effects, actually no side effects at all. I am going to start it on the 9th. I have a wedding on the 8th and just in case the Lexapro does give me either nausea or diahrrea side effects, or even sleepiness, I don't want to take that chance. I need to be at this wedding and the Alprazolam will help me. I started at 5 mg. and have remained at this level because my anxiety level is drastically reduced and I have been able to comfortably do things that I ! haven't done for years. I know this med is for depression and anxiety, but my doc seems to think it will definately take care of the agoraphobia, I also believe I have ocd, so I'm hoping it helps this, as I said, if I make it to the beach this drug IS a miracle. I am starting so slow that you'll think I'm crazy . I bought a pill cutter and am cutting the 10mg. in 4's, taking a piece a day for 2 weeks, if all is well, I will go to 2 pieces, Im wondering if its best to take the 2 pieces at 1 time or one in the morning and one at night. What do you think. Should I also take it during a meal or after? being emetophobia I need to know all this stuff, I'm sorry for all the questions. Guest guest
Well, let me tell you what my pharmacist told me about splitting pills (and I ALWAYS split pills because I have found the " normal " starting doses for meds is way too much for me so I definitely don't think you are crazy, Terry!). When you split a pill that has an indented score line on it, you are assured of the getting equal amounts of the active ingredients in both pieces. Once you start splitting those pieces into smaller pieces, then the active ingredients are not likely to be balanced. Does this make any sense? Given that information, when you get to taking 2 pieces, I would recommend taking them together to get the right balance of ingredients. I always take my Lexapro right before bed and, given my grazing habits, it is safe to say that I have something in my stomach at the time! Given my fear of nausea and vomiting, I never take meds in the morning on an empty stomach even if the bottle says that you can. Hope this helps! ****************************************** I am starting so slow that you'll think I'm crazy .
