Guest guest
Hi, Does foamy urine means protein? What's the definition of foamy? Does it mean even the amount of foam that can't cover the surface of the liquid? I've noticed that at specific restroom I don't have foamy urine. Is it because the bowl contains more water or some cleaner I use which has chemical reaction with protein? Thank you all.
Guest guest
Foamy urine usually indicates protein, but it isn't a very reliable test. Foamy urine can come from liver problems too, I believe. First of all, if you're anything like me, sometimes you will urinate with lots of foam, sometimes with none at all. The concentration of protein in the urine will vary over the course of a day. Personally, I've never been able to see a pattern in terms of time, but early morning seems to be a particularly foamy time. Secondly, my grade 13 high school chemistry dates back to 1971, so, I'm probably not the right person to be answering this. I do think, however, that some products in the toilet bowl might affect the formation of the bubbles that are foam. Bubbles can only form when there is a certain amount of surface tension on the water. Some products may act as a kind of surfactant (they break up any surface tension, even though that's not their purpose), which would prevent any bubbles from forming. But I have no idea whatsoever what toilet bowl cleaning or deodorizing products might do that, and I've never tested it : ) Pierre Foamy Urine > Hi, > > Does foamy urine means protein?
